In this role, you’ll work towards your Information Communication Technician qualification, delivered by our expert training team at Baltic Apprenticeships.

 

A Typical Day in the Job:

  • Providing first-line IT support to customers and internal users via telephone, email, Microsoft Teams and ticketing systems, ensuring support requests are logged and responded to within SLA timeframes.
  • Supporting user account management tasks including password resets, multi-factor authentication setup and onboarding new users securely onto business systems and software platforms.
  • Diagnosing and troubleshooting hardware, software and network connectivity issues using tools such as Command Prompt, TeamViewer, IP configuration utilities and Microsoft troubleshooting tools.
  • Assisting with the installation, configuration and upgrade of hardware and software including PCs, laptops, peripheral devices, networking equipment and remote software deployments.
  • Using Freshdesk, Microsoft Excel and bespoke internal systems to document support activities, track escalations and maintain accurate audit trails of customer issues and resolutions.
  • Supporting wired and wireless network connectivity for customers both remotely and on-site, ensuring devices are connected, operational and functioning correctly within customer environments.
  • Assisting with software updates, patches and cloud-based systems including Microsoft 365 and AWS platforms, while gaining exposure to basic scripting and automation using PowerShell and command-line tools.

 

Full training and support will be provided by your workplace mentor and from the Baltic team.

 

Salary, Hours & Benefits:

  • £16,640.00 per annum
  • Full office based
  • Monday to Friday 8am till 5pm

Desired Qualities, Skills and Knowledge:

  • Passion for IT
  • Confident working both independently and as part of a team
  • Strong interpersonal skills for face-to-face client interactions
  • A proactive and solutions-focused mindset
  • Prior customer service experience is beneficial
  • Grade 4/C in Math’s & Grade 5/C in English

 

Your Training with Baltic:

This Level 3 apprenticeship provides everything you need to immerse yourself in the exciting world of technology and launch a rewarding career in IT.

You’ll get hands-on experience in all areas of technical support, from configuring devices to supporting with software, optimising performance and setting up virtual environments. With our unique curriculum and one-to-one support, you’ll accelerate your skills and get the qualification and confidence you need to thrive in IT.

You’ll be based full time with an employer and will quickly become an important part of the team. Our training is 100% online, including real-time classes with our expert trainers and self-paced courses created by industry specialists.
