Large organisations with an annual salary bill over £3 million are required to contribute to the Apprenticeship Levy. The Apprenticeship Levy is a dedicated apprenticeship fund, which employers can use to cover the costs of apprenticeship training and assessment.
For SMEs & Microbusinesses that do not pay into the Apprenticeship Levy, the Government will fund 100% of apprenticeship training and assessment costs for apprentices aged 16 – 21 and 95% for apprentices aged 22 and over.

Sustainability professionals often work with limited resources, so knowing how to raise funds and manage budgets is essential.
This course builds confidence in budget management and financial planning for CR&S projects, supporting timely, cost-effective initiatives. It also covers best practices for corporate fundraising and charity partnerships, helping align with partner expectations and relevant codes of conduct.
Course 7
Delivering sustainability projects means managing change, motivating people, and keeping plans on track.
This course brings together core concepts in change and project management, equipping learners with the tools to plan and deliver significant CR&S projects, manage stakeholder engagement, and drive progress towards sustainability goals – while also preparing them for the final assessment stage of the programme.
DIPLOMA IN BUSINESS SUSTAINABILITY
As part of Baltic’s Level 4 Sustainability for Business Impact apprenticeship, learners will undertake the globally recognised Diploma in Business Sustainability from the Institute of Sustainability Studies.
At the heart of the Level 4 Sustainability for Business Impact apprenticeship is the Institute of Sustainability Studies Diploma in Business Sustainability.
Worth £2,550 commercially and designed to deliver advanced, specialised training, this globally recognised qualification adds significant value to an apprentice’s professional development. Learners undertake a deep exploration of essential sustainability themes, including sustainability planning and implementation, ESG reporting, supply chain management, and sustainable operations.
Critical emerging topics such as diversity, equity and inclusion and green marketing strategies are also covered, ensuring learners are equipped with the tools and knowledge needed to embed sustainability into every level of a business.

Part 1 of the Institute of Sustainability Studies Diploma in Business Sustainability takes place between months 2 and 5 of the apprenticeship and concludes with an exam.
The self-study course introduces learners to the key principles of business sustainability before moving into strategies for decarbonisation and achieving Net Zero.
Learners build skills in developing and implementing credible sustainability plans, with a strong focus on creating practical actions to meet business goals. The programme also explores how to improve operational efficiency through sustainable practices and emphasises the importance of strong, non-financial reporting through ESG frameworks.
Together, these topics equip learners with the knowledge and tools to drive real, measurable impact within their organisations.

Part 2 of the Institute of Sustainability Studies Diploma in Business Sustainability takes place between months 8 to 13 of the apprenticeship and concludes with an exam.
This part of the course builds on earlier learning by exploring how businesses can apply circular economy principles to reduce waste and maximise value. Learners gain the skills to develop smarter, more resilient supply chains and understand the critical links between business practices and biodiversity.
The course also covers how to create effective Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion strategies to drive engagement and growth. In addition, learners expand their knowledge of sustainable finance and explore how financial decision-making can support long-term environmental goals.
Finally, there is a focus on green marketing and communication, helping learners to promote sustainability initiatives authentically and effectively.
