The Scouts are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic IT Level 3 Apprentice to join their team, develop valuable technical skills and help support an organisation that makes a real difference to young people across the UK.

As an IT Apprentice, the successful candidate will play an important role in supporting the technology that enables the Scouts to deliver their work. They will join a supportive environment where curiosity is encouraged, learning is valued and there are opportunities to grow professionally while contributing to something meaningful.

In this role, you’ll work towards your Level 3 Information Communications Technician qualification, delivered by our expert training team at Baltic Apprenticeships.

A Typical Day in the Job:

  • Assist the Service Desk team in delivering first-line support to end users, under supervision, via phone, email, Teams chat, or in-person.
  • Learn to log, update, and manage support tickets in the ITSM system (ManageEngine Service Desk Plus), ensuring issues are properly documented
  • Support the provisioning and deprovisioning of user accounts and hardware in line with organisational standards, under supervision.
  • Assist with building and imaging desktops, laptops, and mobile devices to organisation standards.
  • Support basic hardware maintenance tasks, such as replacing peripherals and coordinating repairs with vendors.
  • Help maintain accurate documentation of common issues, solutions, and procedures to support knowledge sharing.
  • Escalate issues outside your competence to Service Desk Technicians, Infrastructure, or specialist SMEs as appropriate.
  • Complete all off-the-job training, coursework, and workplace projects required by the apprenticeship standard, including a portfolio of evidence aligned to your day-to-day role.
  • Security specialism: develop foundational, supervised competence in Security tasks (see below), liaising with named SMEs to build sector-specific skills as you progress through the programme.

Full training and support will be provided by your workplace mentor and from the team at Baltic Apprenticeships.

  • Committed to representing Scout values in day-to-day work.
  • Grade 5/C in English & 4/C in Maths GCSE

This apprenticeship programme will provide you with everything you need to launch and develop your career in IT support. Afterwards, we’ll support you to take the next steps, including further training and progression onto a Level 4 qualification.

Your Training with Baltic Apprenticeships

This Level 3 apprenticeship provides everything you need to immerse yourself in the exciting world of technology and launch a rewarding career in IT. 

You’ll get hands-on experience in all areas of technical support, from configuring devices to supporting with software, optimising performance and setting up virtual environments. With our unique curriculum and one-to-one support, you’ll accelerate your skills and get the qualification and confidence you need to thrive in IT.

You’ll be based full time with an employer and will quickly become an important part of the team. Our training is 100% online, including real-time classes with our expert trainers and self-paced courses created by industry specialists.
