Apprenticeship Funding

There are a range of government funding and local authority grant schemes available to help you recruit apprentices or invest in your team’s professional development.

Employers with an annual salary bill over £3 million pay into the Apprenticeship Levy, which can be used to cover apprenticeship training and assessment costs.

For SMEs and microbusinesses that do not pay into the Apprenticeship Levy, the Government will fund 100% of apprenticeship training and assessment costs for apprentices aged 16–24. For apprentices aged 25 and over, the Government will fund 95%, with employers contributing the remaining 5%.

If you’ve exhausted your available levy funds, the Government will fully fund training for apprentices aged 16–24. For apprentices aged 25 and over, employers contribute 25%, with the Government funding the remaining 75%.
