John N Dunn Group is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic IT Support Apprentice to join its growing team. This role offers an excellent opportunity for an individual looking to kick-start a career in IT, gaining hands-on experience in a fast-paced and supportive environment.

 

The successful candidate will assist in maintaining IT systems, supporting end-users across multiple sites, and resolving technical issues. They will work closely with experienced IT professionals while studying towards a recognised IT qualification.

 

This apprenticeship provides a strong foundation in hardware, software, networking, cloud technologies, and IT support practices—ideal for someone passionate about technology and eager to learn.

 

In this role, you’ll work towards your Level 3 IT Support Apprenticeship, delivered by our expert training team at Baltic Apprenticeships.

 

A Typical Day in the Job:

 

  • Assist with system upgrades, backups, password resets, and antivirus setup.
  • Support IT projects with a focus on security and maintenance.
  • Provide first-line support via phone, email, messaging, and remote tools.
  • Log and escalate IT issues, helping meet SLA targets.
  • Install and configure hardware (laptops, desktops, peripherals).
  • Set up and support software including Microsoft 365 and bespoke apps.
  • Perform updates and system upgrades using Microsoft Intune.
  • Help resolve basic network issues (Wi-Fi, connectivity, device setup).
  • Use Microsoft 365 cloud tools (Outlook, Teams, SharePoint).
  • Learn basic scripting (PowerShell, Batch) for simple automation tasks.

Full training and support will be provided by your workplace mentor and from the Baltic team.

 

Salary, Hours & Benefits:

  • £15,000 – £17,000 per annum
  • Monday to Friday 8am – 4pm or 9am – 5pm
  • 23 days per annum, plus bank holiday
  • Fully funded apprenticeship and study time during working hours

Desired Qualities, Skills and Knowledge:

  • Grade 4 in Maths and 5 in English is essential for this role
  • Interest in IT and a desire to develop technical skills.
  • Good problem-solving ability and attention to detail.
  • Friendly and helpful communication style.

This apprenticeship provides the skills, qualification and experience you need to immerse yourself within an exciting, fast-moving industry and become an effective IT Support Technician.
