As an IT Apprentice at Symbol, you will gain hands-on experience in various IT support functions and security processes. This is a fantastic opportunity for a motivated and individual passionate about kickstarting a career in IT.

In this role, you’ll work towards your IT Support Level 3 Apprenticeship delivered by our expert training team at Baltic Apprenticeships. 

 

A Typical Day in the Job:

  • Engage in essential security processes, including password resets, group policy implementation, and anti-virus configurations.
  • Use Heat/Colt ticketing systems to log, track, and escalate IT issues. You will support with SLA adherence and document tasks thoroughly.
  • Assist with hardware setup, including hard drive replacements, routers, switches, Wi-Fi servers, wireless headsets, and printers.
  • Conduct software and driver updates, security patches, and ensure systems are running smoothly and securely.
  • Configure network devices, including Wi-Fi ports and servers, and troubleshoot both wired and wireless connections.
  • Gain hands-on experience with cloud tools like Meraki for remote configurations and management.

 

Full training and support will be provided by your workplace mentor and from the Baltic team.

 

Salary, Hours & Benefits:

  • Salary: £14,722.50 per year
  • Working Hours: Monday to Friday with rotating shifts (6:00–14:30, 8:00–16:00, and 10:00–18:00)
  • 28 days of annual leave
  • Pension contributions
  • Opportunity for a full-time position after apprenticeship completion
  • Salary review after 12 months

  • Grade 5/C in Math's and 4/C in English

 

Your Training with Baltic Apprenticeships

This Level 3 apprenticeship provides everything you need to immerse yourself in the exciting world of technology and launch a rewarding career in IT. 

You’ll get hands-on experience in all areas of technical support, from configuring devices to supporting with software, optimising performance and setting up virtual environments. With our unique curriculum and one-to-one support, you’ll accelerate your skills and get the qualification and confidence you need to thrive in IT.

Eligibility Criteria

You must have the right to work in the UK, and valid residency status to apply for this apprenticeship.  

You’ll be based full time with an employer and will quickly become an important part of the team. Our training is 100% online, including real-time classes with our expert trainers and self-paced courses created by industry specialists.
