HISP Multi Academy Trust is looking for a motivated and enthusiastic IT Support Apprentice to join our team and develop their skills in a busy education environment. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is passionate about technology, enjoys helping others, and wants to build a career in IT support.
As an IT Support Apprentice, you will gain valuable hands-on experience supporting staff and students across the Trust, while working towards a recognised IT qualification. You will learn how to troubleshoot hardware and software issues, respond to support requests, maintain IT equipment, and help ensure that our technology systems run effectively and securely.
You will be supported throughout your apprenticeship by experienced IT professionals, giving you the opportunity to develop both your technical knowledge and your communication and problem-solving skills. This role would suit someone who is curious, reliable, patient and eager to learn, with an interest in pursuing a long-term career in IT.
A Typical Day in the Job:
- Providing first-line IT support through the helpdesk, responding to support requests and assisting users with technical issues
- Installing and configuring client operating systems and ensuring devices are ready for users.
- Diagnosing and troubleshooting a range of hardware, software and connectivity issues.
- Setting up, maintaining and repairing IT hardware, including computers, laptops, peripherals and other devices.
- Assisting users with password resets, account management and access issues.
- Supporting and managing Microsoft 365/Office 365 systems, helping users make the most of the tools available to them.
- Escalating more complex technical issues to the appropriate member of the IT team while keeping users informed.
- Learning new technologies and developing your technical knowledge and problem-solving skills as you progress through your apprenticeship.
Full training and support will be provided by your workplace mentor and from the team at Baltic Apprenticeships.
Desired Qualities, Skills and Knowledge:
- Grade 4/C in Maths and 5/C in English
- Relevant IT qualification or applicable technical or vocational qualification (Post 16 BTEC, A-Level etc)
- Passion for IT
- Good communication skills
- Willingness to learn
- Ability to conduct yourself in a professional manner
Salary, Hours & Benefits:
- Salary: £23,600 per annum (FTE: £26,016)
- 37 hours – Monday to Thursday 8am – 4pm/ 3.30pm on Friday
- Term time only plus 2 weeks, including Inset Days
- Local government pension scheme
- 26 days annual holiday (period September – August) pro-rated from start date.

This apprenticeship provides the skills, qualification and experience you need to immerse yourself within an exciting, fast-moving industry and become an effective IT Support apprentice.
