From troubleshooting day-to-day issues to implementing new technologies, their experienced team works closely with clients to provide reliable and innovative IT support.

They are now looking for a motivated Apprentice IT Technician to join their growing technical team and begin their career within the IT industry.

This is an exciting entry-level opportunity for someone who is passionate about technology and wants to gain hands-on experience within a professional IT environment.

You will work alongside experienced technicians, supporting customers with technical issues, preparing devices, and assisting with a range of IT projects. No previous professional IT experience is required, as full training and support will be provided throughout your apprenticeship.

This role is perfect for someone who enjoys problem-solving, learning how technology works, and helping others with their IT challenges.

In this role, you’ll work towards your Level 3 Information Communications Technician qualification, delivered by our expert training team at Baltic Apprenticeships.

A Typical Day in the Job:

  • Support the Service Desk team with day-to-day IT support requests, including logging, prioritising, updating, escalating, and resolving tickets.
  • Assist with troubleshooting hardware, software, and user issues.
  • Prepare, configure, and maintain desktops, laptops, and other IT equipment.
  • Install and configure Windows operating systems, drivers, and applications.
  • Support device setup using technologies such as Windows Deployment Services, Microsoft Autopilot, and Microsoft Intune.
  • Assist with customer projects, including cloud services, cybersecurity, networking, Wi-Fi, broadband, and firewall installations.
  • Help maintain accurate records and documentation of completed work.
  • Provide clear and professional support to customers, explaining technical issues in a simple and understandable way.
  • Attend customer sites when required to provide hands-on technical support.
  • Work closely with senior engineers while developing your technical knowledge and confidence.

Full training and support will be provided by your workplace mentor and from the team at Baltic Apprenticeships.

Desired Qualities, Skills and Knowledge

  • A genuine interest and passion for IT and technology.
  • Enjoys building, upgrading, or repairing computers.
  • An interest in troubleshooting and solving technical problems.
  • Some experience experimenting with home computers, networks, servers, or virtual machines would be beneficial.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to explain information clearly.
  • A patient and helpful approach when supporting others.
  • Strong organisation skills and attention to detail.
  • A willingness to learn new technologies and develop technical skills.
  • The ability to work well independently and as part of a team.
  • A Grade 5 in GCSE English & a Grade 4 in GCSE Maths.

Salary, Hours & Benefits:

  • £15,600 – £21,904 per annum (depending on age and apprenticeship rate)
  • 37.5 hours per week
  • 20 days annual leave plus 8 bank holidays.
  • An additional day of annual leave for every completed year of service (up to 5 additional days).

This apprenticeship programme will provide you with everything you need to launch and develop your career in IT support. Afterwards, we’ll support you to take the next steps, including further training and progression onto a Level 4 qualification.

Your Training with Baltic Apprenticeships

This Level 3 apprenticeship provides everything you need to immerse yourself in the exciting world of technology and launch a rewarding career in IT. 

You’ll get hands-on experience in all areas of technical support, from configuring devices to supporting with software, optimising performance and setting up virtual environments. With our unique curriculum and one-to-one support, you’ll accelerate your skills and get the qualification and confidence you need to thrive in IT.

You’ll be based full time with an employer and will quickly become an important part of the team. Our training is 100% online, including real-time classes with our expert trainers and self-paced courses created by industry specialists.
