Are you passionate about technology and looking to start your career in the IT industry? AMC IT is looking for an enthusiastic IT Apprentice to join our growing team and gain hands-on experience within a leading IT solutions provider.

At AMC IT, we believe technology should empower businesses, not overwhelm them. Since 2005, we have grown from a local IT provider into a trusted technology partner, delivering innovative solutions across managed IT services, cybersecurity, cloud solutions, infrastructure, and professional services. Our mission is to help organisations work smarter by providing reliable technology solutions delivered with a personal touch.

We’re looking for someone who has a genuine passion for technology, enjoys solving problems, and is excited to learn how technology can support businesses in their day-to-day operations. You’ll be naturally curious, a strong communicator, and someone who enjoys working with people as much as working with systems. Whether you’re helping troubleshoot issues, supporting projects, or developing your technical knowledge, you’ll have the opportunity to make a real impact from day one.

You’ll join a supportive and knowledgeable team of IT professionals who are passionate about sharing their expertise and helping you develop your skills. At AMC IT, we pride ourselves on being approachable and people-focused, creating an environment where you can ask questions, build confidence, and grow throughout your apprenticeship.

Alongside your role at AMC IT, you’ll complete your apprenticeship training with Baltic Apprenticeships. You’ll attend dedicated online training sessions in two-day blocks every 4–6 weeks, giving you the opportunity to build your technical knowledge, gain industry-recognised qualifications, and apply your learning directly in the workplace.

In this role, you’ll work towards your Level 3 Information Communications Technician qualification, delivered by our expert training team at Baltic Apprenticeships.

A Typical Day in the Job:

  • Provide 1st line technical support via phone, email, and a helpdesk ticketing system, diagnosing and resolving IT issues.
  • Track incidents through to resolution while working within agreed Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
  • Configure, build, and deploy desktops and laptops for new and existing customers using Microsoft Autopilot, imaging, and USB installation methods.
  • Carry out hardware maintenance and upgrades, including RAM, HDD/SSD replacements and fault diagnosis.
  • Develop knowledge of networking fundamentals, including DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP, and Windows operating systems in a managed service environment.
  • Work closely with senior engineers through on-the-job training and shadowing, with a clear progression pathway into 2nd and 3rd line support.
  • Attend vendor training sessions and technical webinars to develop technical knowledge and support continuous professional development.

Full training and support will be provided by your workplace mentor and from the team at Baltic Apprenticeships.

Desired Qualities, Skills and Knowledge

  • A passion for technology and a genuine interest in building a career in IT support.
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Windows, Microsoft 365, and networking fundamentals such as DNS, DHCP, and TCP/IP.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot technical issues logically.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills, with good attention to detail.
  • A willingness to learn, follow processes, and develop new technical skills through training and hands-on experience.
  • Grade 4 in GCSE Maths and Grade 5 in GCSE English

Salary, Hours&Benefits:

  • £18,500 per annum
  • 25 days annual leave
  • free parking onsite
  • Casual dress
  • Regular company social events
  • Private healthcare scheme
  • 1 “wellness” hour per week which can be used at any time
