The IT Operations Apprentice will help deliver IT support to the customers across Primary Care (GP Practices) within Humber & North Yorkshire locality as part of their training with N3i. The role will involve primarily first and second line technical support.

Also, when demand requires, the role will be required to help provision IT equipment ready for deployment. The post holder will have a friendly, customer focussed attitude and be keen to learn while putting the customer first at all times. The post holder will contribute to a well-run and efficient IT Operations team.

In this role, you’ll work towards your L3 Information Communication Technician qualification, delivered by our expert training team at Baltic Apprenticeships.

A Typical Day in the Job:

  • Provided 1st line IT support via phone, remote access, and face-to-face, troubleshooting hardware and software issues.
  • Logged, prioritised, and resolved IT incidents within agreed service level agreements (SLAs), escalating where required.
  • Built strong relationships with customers and colleagues, delivering professional, friendly, and high-quality customer service.
  • Supported the deployment of IT equipment, including imaging devices and remotely installing software.
  • Maintained accurate service desk records, processed enquiries, and completed administrative tasks to support IT operations.
  • Followed IT security, disaster recovery, and business continuity procedures, reporting incidents in line with organisational policies.
  • Assisted with technical projects and identified training needs to support continuous service improvement.

Full training and support will be provided by your workplace mentor and from the Baltic team.

Salary, Hours & Benefits:

  • Salary – £17,123 per annum
  • Monday – Friday 8AM – 4PM

Desired Qualities, Skills & Knowledge:

  • Commitment to continuous professional development.
  • Strong knowledge of Windows 10 and Microsoft Office/software applications.
  • Experience with Active Directory administration, including account creation and password resets.
  • Good understanding of hardware and software support in a corporate IT environment.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills with a professional, customer-focused approach.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workload and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to analyse and troubleshoot technical issues effectively.
  • Able to work independently, use initiative, and remain calm under pressure.
  • GCSE Grade 4/C (or equivalent) in English and Maths.
