As a Level 3 Data Analyst Apprentice, you will gain valuable hands-on experience across several departments including English, Maths, Finance, Resources, and Administration, while developing key analytical and administrative skills in a fast-paced school environment. This role would suit someone who is organised, enthusiastic to learn, confident using IT systems, and eager to develop both their analytical and professional skills.
In this role, you’ll work towards your Level 3 Data & Business Insights qualification, delivered by our expert training team at Baltic Apprenticeships.
A Typical Day in the Job:
- Supporting the English and Maths departments with day-to-day administration duties
- Maintaining and updating data using spreadsheets and school systems
- Ordering stationery and updating departmental budget spreadsheets
- Assisting with equipment audits and organising departmental activities and transport
- Renewing annual licences within departments
- Updating student information as required
- Providing administrative support to the Finance department, including data input into accounting software such as purchase orders and invoices
- Supporting the Resources Manager with printing, photocopying, and associated services for staff and students
- Assisting the Personnel and Administration Manager with Subject Access Requests and confidential administrative tasks
- Supporting the wider administration team, including occasional reception cover
- Producing enhanced data analysis and insights across departments as part of your Level 3 apprenticeship programme
- Carrying out general administration duties to support the smooth running of the school
Desired Qualities, Skills and Knowledge
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
- Enthusiastic and willing to learn new skills
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team
- An aptitude for problem solving and data analysis
- Good working knowledge of ICT applications and office techniques
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and Word
- Understanding of confidentiality and General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR)
- Ability to manage workload effectively and prioritise tasks
- Previous experience or knowledge of SIMS would be desirable but not essential
- Grade 4/C in Maths GCSE and 4/C in English GCSE is required for this programme
Salary, Hours & Benefits:
- Salary: £15,434 per annum
- Working hours: 37 hours per week, full year
- Monday to Thursday: 8:00am – 4:30pm
- Friday: 8:30am – 4:00pm
- 30-minute lunch break each day
- Holiday entitlement: 26 days plus bank holidays

This apprenticeship programme will provide you with everything you need to launch and develop your career in data business insights. Afterwards, we’ll support you to take the next steps, including further training and progression onto a Level 4 qualification.
Your Training with Baltic Apprenticeships
You will be enrolled onto the Level 3 Data & Business Insights Apprenticeship delivered by Baltic Apprenticeships. Throughout the programme, you will develop essential skills in:
- Data collection and analysis
- Business reporting and insight generation
- Spreadsheet and database management
- Communication and stakeholder engagement
- GDPR and data security
- Business administration and operational support
- Problem solving and continuous improvement
