This is an exciting opportunity to begin your career in IT through a hands-on apprenticeship. As an IT Support Apprentice, you will work towards your Level 3 Information Communications Technician Apprenticeship, delivered by Baltic Apprenticeships.
You will gain practical experience across IT support and infrastructure, working alongside experienced professionals, contributing to real customer projects, and developing industry-recognised skills.
As part of the apprenticeship, the successful candidate will receive structured training delivered by Baltic Apprenticeships, including two-day training blocks every 4–6 weeks, alongside hands-on experience in the workplace. This combination of practical experience and expert training will help develop the technical knowledge and professional skills needed for a successful IT career.
In this role, you’ll work towards your Level 3 Information Communications Technician qualification, delivered by our expert training team at Baltic Apprenticeships.
A Typical Day in the Job:
- Monitor and manage unassigned workloads within the Service Desk
- Provide 1st and 2nd line technical support via phone, email, and live chat
- Deliver excellent customer service throughout the incident and request lifecycle
- Prioritise and manage IT incidents, ensuring resolution within agreed timescales
- Support customer IT projects and assist with larger infrastructure initiatives
- Maintain and update the Service Desk knowledge base
- Assist with scripting tasks using PowerShell (e.g. reviewing or creating scripts)
- Troubleshoot networking issues, with opportunities to gain exposure to routing and switching
- Work with tools such as SCCM, Intune, and JAMF for software deployment
- Gain experience with cloud platforms including AWS and Google Cloud
Full training and support will be provided by your workplace mentor and from the team at Baltic Apprenticeships.
Desired Qualities, Skills and Knowledge
- Basic understanding of IT and a strong desire to learn
- Strong communication skills (written, verbal, and face-to-face)
- Ability to build positive working relationships
- Organised with good attention to detail
- Methodical approach with the ability to stay calm under pressure
- Proactive, with initiative and a willingness to develop
- Grade 4 in GCSE Maths & Grade 5 in GCSE English.
Salary, Hours & Benefits:
- £17,800 per annum.
- Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week (Initial 12-week onboarding: 08:00 – 16:30)
- Following onboarding: rotating shifts between 07:30 – 17:30

This apprenticeship programme will provide you with everything you need to launch and develop your career in IT support. Afterwards, we’ll support you to take the next steps, including further training and progression onto a Level 4 qualification.
Your Training with Baltic Apprenticeships
This Level 3 apprenticeship provides everything you need to immerse yourself in the exciting world of technology and launch a rewarding career in IT.
You’ll get hands-on experience in all areas of technical support, from configuring devices to supporting with software, optimising performance and setting up virtual environments. With our unique curriculum and one-to-one support, you’ll accelerate your skills and get the qualification and confidence you need to thrive in IT.
You’ll be based full time with an employer and will quickly become an important part of the team. Our training is 100% online, including real-time classes with our expert trainers and self-paced courses created by industry specialists.
