This opportunity is ideal for someone with a genuine interest in IT who is eager to learn, develop new skills, and begin a career in the industry. The company is looking for an individual who is curious about technology, willing to ask questions, and motivated to grow – no prior experience is required, just the right attitude and enthusiasm to learn. The successful candidate will join a small, supportive team that works closely together and encourages collaboration. They will gain valuable hands-on experience across a wide range of technologies, supported by experienced engineers who are committed to their development.

Alongside their day-to-day role, the apprentice will complete their training with Baltic Apprenticeships. This includes structured training delivered in 2-day blocks every 4–6 weeks, enabling them to build knowledge, develop technical skills, and apply their learning in a real working environment.

In this role, you’ll work towards your Level 3 Information Communications Technician qualification, delivered by our expert training team at Baltic Apprenticeships.

A Typical Day in the Job:

  • Support basic IT security tasks, including setting up secure user accounts and applying password and MFA policies.
  • Check antivirus and endpoint protection status and assist with maintaining system security.
  • Help carry out software updates while following IT security best practices.
  • Gain exposure to firewall configuration and basic network security concepts.
  • Follow and interpret technical documentation such as setup guides, procedures, and Microsoft 365 guidance.
  • Apply written instructions to complete day-to-day IT support tasks effectively.
  • Manage support requests by working in priority order and maintaining accurate records.
  • Use ticketing systems, email, and documentation tools to log work and maintain an audit trail.

Full training and support will be provided by your workplace mentor and from the team at Baltic Apprenticeships.

Desired Qualities, Skills and Knowledge

  • Willingness to learn.
  • Reliability and work ethic.
  • Grade 4 in GCSE Maths & Grade 5 in GCSE English.

Salary, Hours & Benefits:

  • £16,000-£18,000 per annum.
  • 9am-5:30pm Monday to Friday
  • 22 days annual leave, extra day accrued after 1 years service
  • Is office based but can be flexible for WFH.

This apprenticeship programme will provide you with everything you need to launch and develop your career in IT support. Afterwards, we’ll support you to take the next steps, including further training and progression onto a Level 4 qualification.

Your Training with Baltic Apprenticeships

This Level 3 apprenticeship provides everything you need to immerse yourself in the exciting world of technology and launch a rewarding career in IT. 

You’ll get hands-on experience in all areas of technical support, from configuring devices to supporting with software, optimising performance and setting up virtual environments. With our unique curriculum and one-to-one support, you’ll accelerate your skills and get the qualification and confidence you need to thrive in IT.

You’ll be based full time with an employer and will quickly become an important part of the team. Our training is 100% online, including real-time classes with our expert trainers and self-paced courses created by industry specialists.
