The company is now looking for an enthusiastic IT Apprentice to join its growing team. This opportunity is ideal for someone with a genuine interest in technology, who is curious about how things work and eager to build a career in IT. What matters most is a willingness to learn, a positive attitude, and the motivation to develop new skills. The successful candidate will become part of a supportive and experienced team that is passionate about delivering high-quality service. From day one, they will be encouraged to ask questions, get involved, and develop their skills, with guidance from colleagues who are committed to supporting their growth.
Alongside their day-to-day responsibilities, the apprentice will work towards a recognised qualification with Baltic Apprenticeships. This will include structured training delivered in dedicated 2-day blocks every 4–6 weeks, providing the opportunity to build technical knowledge while gaining valuable real-world experience in a professional environment.
In this role, you’ll work towards your Level 3 Information Communications Technician qualification, delivered by our expert training team at Baltic Apprenticeships.
A Typical Day in the Job:
- Support day-to-day IT operations across both the service desk and on-site client visits, assisting with hardware, software, and user support tasks.
- Work with ticketing systems (Autotask, Outlook, SharePoint, IT Glue) to log, update, and resolve support tickets in line with agreed SLAs, escalating issues where required.
- Assist with installing, configuring, and maintaining IT equipment, including PCs, printers, routers, switches, and Microsoft 365 environments.
- Provide technical support to clients and internal teams via phone, email, remote access tools, and face-to-face support on site.
- Follow documented procedures and security processes such as password resets, account management, anti-virus, MFA, and software updates while working alongside experienced engineers.
- Gain exposure to Microsoft 365, Azure, Intune, basic scripting, and networked environments, building practical skills across a range of technologies.
Full training and support will be provided by your workplace mentor and from the team at Baltic Apprenticeships.
Desired Qualities, Skills and Knowledge
- A basic understanding of IT systems, including PCs, hardware components, operating systems, and common software applications.
- An interest in IT support and networking, with some awareness of routers, switches, Wi-Fi, and how devices connect to a network.
- Familiarity with Microsoft products such as Windows and Microsoft 365, or a willingness to learn tools like Azure, Intune, and SharePoint.
- Confidence using computers day to day and a basic understanding of installing software, running updates, and following set processes.
- An ability to follow instructions and documented procedures, particularly around security tasks such as password resets, account management, and anti-virus updates.
- A positive attitude towards learning on the job and developing practical IT skills in both office and on-site environments.
- Grade 4 in GCSE Maths & Grade 5 in GCSE English.
Salary, Hours & Benefits:
- £16,000-£22,000 per annum.
- 9am-5.30pm, Monday to Friday
- 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays.

This apprenticeship programme will provide you with everything you need to launch and develop your career in IT support. Afterwards, we’ll support you to take the next steps, including further training and progression onto a Level 4 qualification.
Your Training with Baltic Apprenticeships
This Level 3 apprenticeship provides everything you need to immerse yourself in the exciting world of technology and launch a rewarding career in IT.
You’ll get hands-on experience in all areas of technical support, from configuring devices to supporting with software, optimising performance and setting up virtual environments. With our unique curriculum and one-to-one support, you’ll accelerate your skills and get the qualification and confidence you need to thrive in IT.
You’ll be based full time with an employer and will quickly become an important part of the team. Our training is 100% online, including real-time classes with our expert trainers and self-paced courses created by industry specialists.
