Grace Academy Coventry, part of the Tove Learning Trust, is looking for an enthusiastic and motivated IT Support Apprentice to join their team. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain practical experience supporting IT systems within a busy secondary school while working towards a recognised IT qualification.
You’ll be mentored by the IT Services Manager and IT Technician, developing valuable technical skills while helping staff and students use technology effectively across the school. Grace Academy Coventry is a thriving secondary academy with around 1,065 students and 130 staff, committed to providing an inspiring and supportive environment where both students and staff can succeed.
As part of the apprenticeship, the successful candidate will receive structured training delivered by Baltic Apprenticeships, including two-day training blocks every 4–6 weeks, alongside hands-on experience in the workplace. This combination of practical experience and expert training will help develop the technical knowledge and professional skills needed for a successful IT career.

In this role, you’ll work towards your Level 3 Information Communications Technician qualification, delivered by our expert training team at Baltic Apprenticeships.
A Typical Day in the Job:
- Managing the IT helpdesk by logging, updating and prioritising support tickets
- Supporting asset management, including auditing, replacing and relocating IT equipment
- Assisting users with Wi-Fi connections, access points and web-based applications
- Supporting teaching staff and students with ICT-based learning activities
- Installing and updating hardware and software across school devices
- Supporting maintenance of printers, AV equipment, CCTV systems and peripherals
- Creating and maintaining technical documentation and user guides
- Assisting with system monitoring and automation tasks where required
- Supporting compliance with GDPR, safeguarding and IT security policies
- Helping with IT setup for school events such as parents’ evenings and open events
Full training and support will be provided by your workplace mentor and from the team at Baltic Apprenticeships.
Desired Qualities, Skills and Knowledge
- A genuine interest in IT and technology
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word and Excel)
- Basic understanding of how IT systems support organisations such as schools
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Good organisational and time management skills
- Ability to prioritise tasks and manage workload
- Grade 4 in GCSE Maths & Grade 5 in GCSE English.
Salary, Hours & Benefits:
- £7.55 per hour (increasing each April in line with National Minimum Wage).
- Apprentices aged 19+ will move to the National Minimum Wage after one year.
- 37 hours per week, term-time only (39 weeks per year) Monday – Thursday: 8:00am – 4:00pm, Friday: 8:00am – 3:30pm (30-minute break daily)

This apprenticeship programme will provide you with everything you need to launch and develop your career in IT support. Afterwards, we’ll support you to take the next steps, including further training and progression onto a Level 4 qualification.
Your Training with Baltic Apprenticeships
This Level 3 apprenticeship provides everything you need to immerse yourself in the exciting world of technology and launch a rewarding career in IT.
You’ll get hands-on experience in all areas of technical support, from configuring devices to supporting with software, optimising performance and setting up virtual environments. With our unique curriculum and one-to-one support, you’ll accelerate your skills and get the qualification and confidence you need to thrive in IT.
You’ll be based full time with an employer and will quickly become an important part of the team. Our training is 100% online, including real-time classes with our expert trainers and self-paced courses created by industry specialists.
