As an IT Apprentice, you’ll become part of a supportive and experienced technical team who are passionate about technology and committed to helping you develop your skills. You’ll gain hands-on experience supporting real customers and systems, learning from colleagues who will guide and mentor you throughout your apprenticeship.

They're looking for someone who has a genuine interest in IT, enjoys problem-solving, and is eager to learn. The ideal candidate will be proactive, enthusiastic, and excited to develop new technical skills while building a long-term career in the industry. Alongside practical, on-the-job experience, you’ll complete your apprenticeship training with Baltic Apprenticeships, attending two-day training blocks every 4–6 weeks. This structured learning will provide you with the knowledge, industry-recognised qualifications, and support needed to grow into a confident IT professional.

In this role, you’ll work towards your Level 3 Information Communications Technician qualification, delivered by our expert training team at Baltic Apprenticeships.

A Typical Day in the Job:

  • Deliver 1st line support across desktop, network, and server environments.
  • Monitor, log, manage, and resolve incidents via the IT service desk.
  • Escalate issues appropriately in line with internal processes.
  • Support change management and project delivery activities.
  • Install, configure, and maintain PCs, servers, printers, and network hardware.
  • Maintain and support Microsoft operating systems and core applications.
  • Assist in maintaining IT standards, documentation, and best practice.
  • Support school-based systems and infrastructure as required.
  • Participate in occasional out-of-hours work where necessary.

Full training and support will be provided by your workplace mentor and from the team at Baltic Apprenticeships.

  • Committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people.
  • Willing to undertake an enhanced DBS check.
  • Grade 4 in GCSE Maths & Grade 5 in GCSE English.

Salary, Hours & Benefits:

  • £16,640 per annum.
  • Monday to Friday (8am-4pm, 8:30am-4:30pm, 9am-5pm).

This apprenticeship programme will provide you with everything you need to launch and develop your career in IT support. Afterwards, we’ll support you to take the next steps, including further training and progression onto a Level 4 qualification.

Your Training with Baltic Apprenticeships

This Level 3 apprenticeship provides everything you need to immerse yourself in the exciting world of technology and launch a rewarding career in IT. 

You’ll get hands-on experience in all areas of technical support, from configuring devices to supporting with software, optimising performance and setting up virtual environments. With our unique curriculum and one-to-one support, you’ll accelerate your skills and get the qualification and confidence you need to thrive in IT.

You’ll be based full time with an employer and will quickly become an important part of the team. Our training is 100% online, including real-time classes with our expert trainers and self-paced courses created by industry specialists.
