Join Trade Interchange, a leading UK software company based in Teesside, known for its innovative ARCUS® platform that helps organisations streamline supplier management. As an IT Apprentice, you’ll play a key role in delivering first-line support to users by resolving hardware, software, networking, and operating system issues. You’ll monitor and maintain ICT systems daily to ensure smooth, secure operations, support cloud services like Azure and DevOps, and work alongside the team to uphold security standards.This is a fantastic opportunity to gain hands-on experience managing software updates, troubleshooting technical faults, and contributing ideas for system improvements in a fast-growing, agile environment.

This exciting IT apprenticeship offers more than just valuable hands-on experience—it provides a clear pathway for long-term career growth. Upon successful completion of the Level 3 IT Apprenticeship, you will progress onto the Level 4 Network Engineer Apprenticeship with Trade Interchange, forming part of a structured 3-year development plan designed to help you thrive in the tech industry..

A Typical Day in the Job:

  • Deliver first-line IT support by assisting users with common issues related to hardware, software, networking, and operating systems.
  • Carry out daily monitoring, troubleshooting, and routine maintenance of ICT systems to ensure reliable performance.
  • Provide support for cloud services, including Azure and DevOps, and escalate technical problems when necessary
  • Work closely with the wider team to help ensure all ICT services comply with security standards such as ISO 27001.
  • Maintain a good working knowledge of the ICT infrastructure to quickly identify and resolve technical faults.
  • Manage regular software updates, security patches, antivirus tools, and general system upkeep to keep devices secure and up to date.
  • Proactively identify patterns or recurring issues in the IT environment and recommend improvements to systems, software, or configurations.

 

Full training and support will be provided by your workplace mentor and from the Baltic team.

 

Salary, Hours & Benefits:

  • £15,000 to £17,000 per annum
  • Monday to Friday 8:30am till 5:00pm
  • Annual holiday entitlement is 31 days per year inclusive of bank and public holidays.
  • Life assurance at 4 times basic salary
  • Employer contribution to pension scheme of up to 3% of basic salary matching
  • Regular social events
  • After successfully completing the Level 3 IT Apprenticeship, you will progress to the Level 4 Network Apprenticeship with Trade Interchange

  • Actively stays up to date with the latest tools, trends, and developments in the IT industry
  • Good communication skills
  • Passionate about working in IT and building a long-term career in the field
  • Eager to learn new skills and expand technical knowledge
  • Self-motivated with a strong desire to succeed and deliver high-quality work
  • Grade 5/C in Math's and 4/C in English

 

Your Training with Baltic Apprenticeships

This Level 3 apprenticeship provides everything you need to immerse yourself in the exciting world of technology and launch a rewarding career in IT. 

You’ll get hands-on experience in all areas of technical support, from configuring devices to supporting with software, optimising performance and setting up virtual environments. With our unique curriculum and one-to-one support, you’ll accelerate your skills and get the qualification and confidence you need to thrive in IT.

Eligibility Criteria

You must have the right to work in the UK, and valid residency status to apply for this apprenticeship.  

You’ll be based full time with an employer and will quickly become an important part of the team. Our training is 100% online, including real-time classes with our expert trainers and self-paced courses created by industry specialists.
