Aletheia Academies Trust is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented individual to undertake the role of IT Support Apprentice. This position offers an exceptional opportunity for a proactive candidate to gain practical experience and industry-recognised qualifications within a dynamic educational environment. The successful applicant will contribute to the efficient operation of the Trust's IT infrastructure by providing essential technical support to staff across our network of schools.

 

In this role, you’ll work towards your IT Support Apprenticeship delivered by our expert training team at Baltic Apprenticeships.

 

A Typical Day in the Job:

  • Provide professional first-line technical support to end-users, both in person and remotely, addressing hardware and software issues. All support interactions and resolutions will be meticulously documented within the FreshService management system.
  • Assist ICT Technicians in the execution of various maintenance procedures, including hardware repairs, software upgrades, and the implementation of scripts, as directed by senior team members.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to professional development by actively engaging with the assigned Skills Coach and completing all Apprenticeship learning and development tasks in a timely manner to ensure the successful attainment of the qualification.
  • Participate in the installation and configuration of new hardware and software deployments, ensuring adherence to established protocols and monitoring usage as required.
  • Provide occasional on-site technical assistance and training to staff members across the Trust, including in-classroom support where necessary.
  • Contribute to the general administration of Trust and school systems, including email account management, data backup procedures, and the implementation of relevant security protocols.
  • Assist in the maintenance of accurate records, including work logs, equipment inventories, and participation in stock-taking exercises.

Full training and support will be provided by your workplace mentor and from the Baltic team.

 

Salary, Hours & Benefits:

  • £15,000 per annum
  • Working Monday-Friday, 8AM-4:30PM
  • 4pm finish on Fridays

Desired Qualities, Skills and Knowledge:

  • Emotional resilience in working with challenging behaviours
  • Appropriate attitudes to the use of authority and maintaining discipline.
  • Able to give clear and concise guidance to others
  • Able to keep accurate records 
  • Literacy skills to read and understand technical language and instructions
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
  • A Grade 5/C at GCSE level in English and a Grade 4/C at GCSE level in Mathematics are required for this role.
