Baltic Apprenticeships is thrilled to be partnering with a excellent technology service provider who is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic individual to join their team as an IT Support Apprentice.

The client considers themselves to be one of the friendliest, most personable technology service companies in the North East. They work with a wide variety of clients – ranging from 1 users to over a 1000 users across multiple sites spread around the world, a majority of their clients are in the North East however, they now supply IT support to clients globally, with users in India, Kenya, Singapore, Bangladesh, Tanzania and further afield. They have a wealth of experience with working with apprentices in the past to develop and progress them, there is no better place to kick-start your career!

As an IT Support Apprentice, you will be an essential part of the team, responsible for providing 1st line IT support, installing & upgrading hardware, troubleshooting network issues, working on IT audits and so much more to enhance your skills to reach your true potential!

In this role, you’ll work towards your Level 3 Information Communication Technician qualification, delivered by our expert training team at Baltic Apprenticeships.

A Typical Day in the Job:

  • 1st line support, answering helpdesk IT related tickets, on the phone as well as via a ticket system – this can be anything from hardware problems, internet issues, admin rights, setting up group polices or diagnosing network issues
  • Installing of hardware and cabling, including access control and IP CCTV systems
  • Installing, upgrading and repairing hardware such as RAM/SSD upgrades
  • Troubleshooting networks using Event Viewer, Command Prompt as well as bespoke tools
  • PowerShell scripting to simplify automation of tasks
  • Working on IT audits to understand what new clients require

Full training and support will be provided by your workplace mentor and from the Baltic team.

Salary, Hours & Benefits:

  • Salary – £13,500 – £15,000
  • Monday – Friday 9 AM – 5:30 PM (Infrequently may require some flexibility if working on site)

  • Passion an interest in IT
  • Communication skills – Written & Verbal
  • Able to use initiative and work as part of a team
  • Enthusiastic, hardworking and determined nature
  • Ability to work well under pressure & work to given deadlines and targets
  • Demonstrable experience and ability working with computers in a variety of ways
  • Grade 4/C in Math's & Grade 5/C in English GCSE
