Are you passionate about technology and ready to kickstart your career in IT? Charltons Farms is looking for a motivated IT Apprentice to join their friendly and supportive team, where you'll gain hands-on experience while developing valuable technical skills in a thriving business.

Charltons Farms is a fourth-generation family business with a proud heritage dating back to 1946. Operating across Kent and Norfolk, the company grows and packs high-quality apples, strawberries, raspberries and cherries, supplying leading retailers across the UK. This opportunity is perfect for someone with excellent communication skills, a positive attitude and a genuine eagerness to learn. You'll be supported every step of the way by an experienced and welcoming IT team who are passionate about helping you build your confidence and develop your technical knowledge. Alongside invaluable on-the-job experience, you'll complete your apprenticeship with Baltic Apprenticeships, attending dedicated 2-day training blocks every 4–6 weeks. These sessions will equip you with the knowledge, skills and behaviours needed to become a successful IT professional while allowing you to apply your learning directly in the workplace.

In this role, you’ll work towards your Level 3 Information Communications Technician qualification, delivered by our expert training team at Baltic Apprenticeships.

A Typical Day in the Job:

  • The Junior IT Help Desk Engineer will provide technical support to our users, assist in maintaining and troubleshooting hardware and software systems, and work with the IT Team, to ensure smooth IT operations across the organisation.
  • This role is perfect for someone looking to begin or advance their career in IT support The role will be based in Maidstone, however there will be a requirement to travel to our Norfolk site when required.

Full training and support will be provided by your workplace mentor and from the team at Baltic Apprenticeships.

Desired Qualities, Skills and Knowledge

  • Basic understanding of computer systems, mobile devices, WiFi and other tech products.
  • Previous experience in a customer service or IT support role is preferred but not required.
  • Good problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Attention to detail and ability to prioritise tasks.
  • Grade 4 in GCSE Maths & Grade 5 in GCSE English 

Salary, Hours & Benefits:

  • £18,000 per annum.
  • 8am-5pm, Monday to Friday.
  • Company Pension.
  • On-Site Parking.

This apprenticeship programme will provide you with everything you need to launch and develop your career in IT support. Afterwards, we’ll support you to take the next steps, including further training and progression onto a Level 4 qualification.

Your Training with Baltic Apprenticeships

This Level 3 apprenticeship provides everything you need to immerse yourself in the exciting world of technology and launch a rewarding career in IT. 

You’ll get hands-on experience in all areas of technical support, from configuring devices to supporting with software, optimising performance and setting up virtual environments. With our unique curriculum and one-to-one support, you’ll accelerate your skills and get the qualification and confidence you need to thrive in IT.

You’ll be based full time with an employer and will quickly become an important part of the team. Our training is 100% online, including real-time classes with our expert trainers and self-paced courses created by industry specialists.
