 Join Astra Group – a leading technology partner in the digital signage and AV sector as we grow our dynamic IT team. We’re on the lookout for a motivated and tech-savvy individual to join us as an IT Support Apprentice. This is an exciting opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced, innovative environment where digital technology meets cutting-edge display solutions.

As an IT Support Apprentice, you’ll be part of a collaborative and supportive team that keeps our systems running smoothly. You’ll learn the foundations of IT support, including troubleshooting hardware and software issues, providing technical assistance to staff, and helping to maintain our internal infrastructure.

In this role, you’ll work towards your IT Support Apprenticeship delivered by our expert training team at Baltic Apprenticeships.

 

A Typical Day in the Job:

·       Onboarding/offboarding staff (setting up accounts, permissions, and secure access)

·       Operate as a first-line support technician for both internal staff and external clients, helping to triage and resolve incoming tickets while adhering to agreed service levels.

·       Gain experience using tools like Splashtop for remote support, standard OS tools (like event viewers, log analyzers), and command-line utilities for diagnostics.

·       Handle physical installs of signage players, including cabling, mounting, and basic networking where needed.

·       Assist with OS and software updates across all supported environments

·       Support devices connected to both wired and wireless networks, including troubleshooting VPN issues and connectivity to remote signage screens

  • Full training and support will be provided by your workplace mentor and from the Baltic team.

 

Salary, Hours & Benefits:

·       £18,000 to £20,000 per annum

·       Monday – Friday 9am – 5pm

·       Flexible for appointments

·       Half day holiday for your birthday

·       Socialising Events

·       Dart board in the office

 

Desired Qualities, Skills and Knowledge:

·       Basic understanding of IT

·       Passion for IT

·       Understanding of Customer service

·       Energetic and Proactive Attitude – We're big on personality and team fit. Technical skills can be taught, but we're looking for someone with real drive, enthusiasm, and a can-do mindset.

·       Able to handle pressure and challenges

·       Grade 5/C in English or 4/C in Math's GCSE

 

This apprenticeship programme will provide you with everything you need to launch and develop your career in IT support. Afterwards, we’ll support you to take the next steps, including further training and progression onto a Level 4 qualification.

 

Your Training with Baltic Apprenticeships

This Level 3 apprenticeship provides everything you need to immerse yourself in the exciting world of technology and launch a rewarding career in IT.

You’ll get hands-on experience in all areas of technical support, from configuring devices to supporting with software, optimising performance and setting up virtual environments. With our unique curriculum and one-to-one support, you’ll accelerate your skills and get the qualification and confidence you need to thrive in IT.

 

You’ll be based full time with an employer and will quickly become an important part of the team. Our training is 100% online, including real-time classes with our expert trainers and self-paced courses created by industry specialists.
