This is an exciting opportunity for someone with a genuine interest in technology who is looking to begin a long-term career in IT. You'll gain hands-on experience supporting users across the business, working with modern technologies including Microsoft 365, SharePoint, Windows systems, networking, and infrastructure, while learning from experienced IT professionals.
In this role, you’ll work towards your Level 3 IT Support Technician qualification, delivered by our expert training team at Baltic Apprenticeships.
A Typical Day in the Job:
- Providing first-line IT support to internal users via phone, email, and ticketing systems
- Logging, updating, and resolving support tickets through the Service Desk system
- Troubleshooting hardware, software, and Microsoft 365 issues
- Supporting user account administration, including password resets and access requests
- Assisting with the setup, configuration, and deployment of IT devices
- Using PowerShell, Command Prompt, and basic scripting to assist with troubleshooting and automation tasks
- Maintaining and updating IT documentation and knowledge base articles
- Supporting the management of Group Policies, user permissions, and system configurations
- Assisting with network, server, and wider infrastructure support activities
- Working with SharePoint and Microsoft 365 platforms to support business systems
- Escalating complex technical issues when required, providing clear and accurate information
- Delivering excellent customer service and communicating effectively with users across the business
- Following IT security procedures and supporting cyber security best practices
- Working alongside experienced IT professionals to develop technical knowledge and skills
Desired Qualities, Skills and Knowledge
- A genuine interest in IT and technology with a strong desire to learn and developExcellent communication skills with the ability to build positive relationships with colleagues and end users
- Strong problem-solving skills and a logical approach to troubleshooting technical issues
- Ability to take ownership of tasks and follow issues through to resolution
- Uses initiative and can work independently when appropriate
- Confident asking questions and seeking clarification when required
- Able to gather information and investigate issues before escalating
- Resilient and able to work effectively in a fast-paced support environment
- Positive attitude with a willingness to learn from experienced colleagues
- Any experience using SharePoint would be beneficial, but is not essential
- Grade 4/C in Maths and Grade 5/C in English GCSE are required for this programme
Salary, Hours & Benefits:
- Salary: £16,640 – £26,436.80 per annum
- Starting salary will be based on the legal minimum for age
- Following a successful 3-month probation period, there will be a salary review with the IT team to assess progression and potential salary increases
- Monday to Friday working pattern
- Working hours: 8:30am – 5:00pm with a 30-minute lunch break
- Flexibility around public transport and train travel requirements, provided contracted hours are fulfilled

Your Training with Baltic Apprenticeships
Baltic Apprenticeships’ IT Support Technician Level 3 programme is designed to equip apprentices with the technical and professional skills required to succeed in a modern IT support environment.
Throughout the apprenticeship, you will develop knowledge and experience in:
- IT fundamentals and troubleshooting
- Operating systems and device support
- Networking and infrastructure basics
- Cyber security principles
- Customer service and communication
- Microsoft 365 and cloud technologies
- Ticketing systems and IT service management
- Hardware and software support processes
Your apprenticeship training will combine workplace learning with expert-led sessions from Baltic Apprenticeships to support your development and progression throughout the programme.
