We’re looking for a motivated and enthusiastic IT Apprentice with a genuine passion for technology and a strong desire to learn. You’ll be someone who enjoys solving problems, communicating with others, and delivering excellent customer service. Strong communication skills are essential, as you’ll be supporting colleagues across the business and helping resolve a wide range of IT queries in a professional and friendly manner.
You’ll join a supportive and experienced IT team who will guide you every step of the way. From day one, you’ll receive hands-on training, mentoring and exposure to a wide range of technologies, giving you the opportunity to build valuable real-world skills in a collaborative environment. Alongside your role, you’ll complete your apprenticeship training with Baltic Apprenticeships. This will include structured 2-day training blocks every 4 to 6 weeks, allowing you dedicated time to develop your knowledge, gain industry-recognised qualifications and apply what you learn back into the workplace.
In this role, you’ll work towards your Level 3 Information Communications Technician qualification, delivered by our expert training team at Baltic Apprenticeships.
A Typical Day in the Job:
- Assist with IT security processes including password resets, device configuration, and managing user access permissions.
- Support the setup and maintenance of security controls such as multi-factor authentication, antivirus software, encryption, and group policies.
- Follow company IT procedures and security policies to ensure compliance and safe working practices.
- Use internal knowledge base systems such as Confluence to interpret technical documentation and follow how-to guides when completing tasks.
- Work within agreed Service Level Agreements (SLAs), ensuring support tickets are responded to within the required 2-hour timeframe.
- Use ticketing systems such as Jira to log, track, update, and maintain an audit trail of IT support requests.
- Provide technical support to internal staff and external users through various communication methods including ticketing systems, Microsoft Teams, email, phone, and face-to-face support.
- Diagnose and resolve IT issues using troubleshooting tools such as Windows 11 utilities, Azure
Full training and support will be provided by your workplace mentor and from the team at Baltic Apprenticeships.
Desired Qualities, Skills and Knowledge
- Genuine interest in technology and enthusiasm for learning about IT systems and hardware.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Customer service skills with a friendly, professional, and approachable manner.
- Organised with good time management skills and ability to prioritise tasks.
- Grade 4 in GCSE Maths & Grade 5 in GCSE English.
Salary, Hours & Benefits:
- £17,500 per annum.

This apprenticeship programme will provide you with everything you need to launch and develop your career in IT support. Afterwards, we’ll support you to take the next steps, including further training and progression onto a Level 4 qualification.
Your Training with Baltic Apprenticeships
This Level 3 apprenticeship provides everything you need to immerse yourself in the exciting world of technology and launch a rewarding career in IT.
You’ll get hands-on experience in all areas of technical support, from configuring devices to supporting with software, optimising performance and setting up virtual environments. With our unique curriculum and one-to-one support, you’ll accelerate your skills and get the qualification and confidence you need to thrive in IT.
You’ll be based full time with an employer and will quickly become an important part of the team. Our training is 100% online, including real-time classes with our expert trainers and self-paced courses created by industry specialists.
