Swiftcomm is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic IT Apprentice with a genuine interest in technology and a positive, can-do attitude. Prior technical experience is not essential; personality, willingness to learn, and enthusiasm for IT are considered more important than an existing skillset. The successful candidate will join a supportive and collaborative team of experienced professionals who are committed to mentoring, knowledge sharing, and helping each other succeed. As part of the apprenticeship, the IT Apprentice will receive structured training delivered by Baltic Apprenticeships, consisting of two-day training blocks every 4–6 weeks. This formal training will be combined with hands-on experience and on-the-job support, providing a strong foundation for a long-term career in IT.
In this role, you’ll work towards your Level 3 Information Communications Technician qualification, delivered by our expert training team at Baltic Apprenticeships.
A Typical Day in the Job:
- Carry out day-to-day IT security tasks, including password resets, user account management, and access control.
- Manage user permissions and access to servers, shared files, and cloud-based systems.
- Support the setup and administration of multi-factor authentication (MFA) within Microsoft 365.
- Administer security and access requirements using Microsoft 365 Admin Centre and Azure.
- Assist with configuring and maintaining security policies and device compliance through Microsoft Intune.
- Refer to knowledge base articles, previous AutoTask tickets, and IT Glue documentation to assist with troubleshooting and root cause analysis.
- Log, prioritise, and manage support tickets using AutoTask.
- Provide technical support to internal staff and external customers via email, telephone, Microsoft Teams, face-to-face interaction, and ticketing systems.
- Install, test, configure, and upgrade hardware including laptops, desktops, storage, and memory.
Full training and support will be provided by your workplace mentor and from the team at Baltic Apprenticeships.

- Genuine interest in IT, with experience as a hobbyist or through self-directed learning.
- Communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain technical issues clearly.
- Customer-focused mindset with the ability to deliver high levels of customer service.
- Self-motivated and enthusiastic, with a proactive “can-do” attitude.
- Willingness to learn, develop new skills, and take on feedback.
- Positive attitude and strong work ethic, valuing initiative and enthusiasm over existing technical skills.
Salary, Hours & Benefits:
- £15,600-£16,600 per annum.
- 9am-5pm, Monday to Friday.
- 20 days annual leave plus bank holidays.
- Summer Event – Such as day out to local festival.
- Christmas Social – Expenses paid for, recent trip was to London.
- Full time role available after completion of the apprenticeship.

This apprenticeship programme will provide you with everything you need to launch and develop your career in IT support. Afterwards, we’ll support you to take the next steps, including further training and progression onto a Level 4 qualification.
Your Training with Baltic Apprenticeships
This Level 3 apprenticeship provides everything you need to immerse yourself in the exciting world of technology and launch a rewarding career in IT.
You’ll get hands-on experience in all areas of technical support, from configuring devices to supporting with software, optimising performance and setting up virtual environments. With our unique curriculum and one-to-one support, you’ll accelerate your skills and get the qualification and confidence you need to thrive in IT.
You’ll be based full time with an employer and will quickly become an important part of the team. Our training is 100% online, including real-time classes with our expert trainers and self-paced courses created by industry specialists.
