Are you passionate about technology and ready to start your career in IT with a purpose-driven organisation?

Apex Collaborative Trust is a dedicated educational trust that brings together multiple primary and secondary schools to support learning and opportunity across our communities, underpinned by values of Ambition, Collaboration and Trust.

They're looking for an IT Apprentice who is genuinely interested in technology, hardworking, curious to learn, and excited to grow their skills in a real-world IT environment. You’ll be joining a supportive ICT team that values collaboration, encourages development, and is committed to helping you succeed where you will be working alongside experienced professionals who are there to guide you every step of the way.

Throughout your apprenticeship, you’ll also benefit from structured professional training with Baltic Apprenticeships, including 2-day training blocks every 4–6 weeks, giving you the tools, knowledge, and confidence to build a successful career in IT while making a meaningful contribution to the Trust’s digital services.

In this role, you’ll work towards your Level 3 Information Communications Technician qualification, delivered by our expert training team at Baltic Apprenticeships.

A Typical Day in the Job:

  • Support school/trust ICT services by providing on-site technical support across multiple sites, supporting the resolution of incidents and service requests in line with agreed processes and procedures.
  • Working closely with the ICT Manager and Senior ICT Technician, support the ICT infrastructure including physical and virtual servers, backups and networking devices ensuring the availability and security of the network, data and applications.
  • AV set-ups / Video editing and media projects.
  •  Infrastructure support (wireless and wired network).
  • Support staff & students on use of the school’s ICT systems.
  • Printer consumables asset management.
  • Systems and software support / Active directory and group policy support.

Full training and support will be provided by your workplace mentor and from the team at Baltic Apprenticeships.

Desired Qualities, Skills and Knowledge

  • Professional and customer focussed approach to work.
  • Ability to deal with confidential information appropriately.
  • Ability to follow set procedures and take direction from line manager.
  • To work constructively as part of a team, understanding school roles and responsibilities.
  • Hard working, loyal and flexible in approach to work.
  • Ability to deal with situations sensitivity and find solutions.
  • Good sense of humour.
  • Grade 4 in GCSE Maths & Grade 5 in GCSE English.

Salary, Hours & Benefits:

  • £15,000-£17,000 per annum.
  • 8am-4pm Monday to Friday.
  • 26 days annual leave plus bank holidays and 2 additional statutory days at Xmas.

This apprenticeship programme will provide you with everything you need to launch and develop your career in IT support. Afterwards, we’ll support you to take the next steps, including further training and progression onto a Level 4 qualification.

Your Training with Baltic Apprenticeships

This Level 3 apprenticeship provides everything you need to immerse yourself in the exciting world of technology and launch a rewarding career in IT. 

You’ll get hands-on experience in all areas of technical support, from configuring devices to supporting with software, optimising performance and setting up virtual environments. With our unique curriculum and one-to-one support, you’ll accelerate your skills and get the qualification and confidence you need to thrive in IT.

You’ll be based full time with an employer and will quickly become an important part of the team. Our training is 100% online, including real-time classes with our expert trainers and self-paced courses created by industry specialists.
