Baltic Apprenticeships are working closely with our client in Welbourn, they are on the lookout for an IT Apprentice to join their rapidly growing team! Offering a fantastic £17,000 salary, discounted gym memberships, healthcare cash plan and much more. This is the perfect opportunity to begin your career in the IT industry!

As an apprentice you will be tasked with, providing 1st and 2nd line support within the school, resolving technical issues raised by staff and students, installing and maintaining the schools classroom IT equipment and much more. You will be fully immersed in all aspects of IT and given all the tools to help you build a successful career in the industry! You will be closely supported by the schools Network Manager and the wider IT team. As well as the in house support you will also have a specialist coach from Baltic Apprenticeships to provide you with industry expert knowledge throughout your journey.

In this role, you’ll work towards your Level 3 Information Communications Technician delivered by our expert training team at Baltic Apprenticeships.

A Typical Day in the Job:

  • Act as 1st and 2nd line support within the school, monitoring ICT Support helpdesk, allocating jobs according to their priority
  • Resolve technical issues raised by staff and students in a timely manner escalating to 3rd line
  • Advise staff in the use of hardware and software to enable them to improve the quality of teaching and learning for students
  • To be responsible for the installation and maintenance of the school's classrooms ICT equipment including PCs, laptops, interactive screen and printers
  • You will be responsible for undertaking ICT Support projects to be overseen by the school Network Manager
  • Control stock levels for consumables, including printer supplies, purchasing consumables necessary, ensuring value for money and minimum disruption to usage of IT equipment

Full training and support will be provided by your workplace mentor and from the Baltic team.

Salary, Hours & Benefits:

Desired Qualities, Skills and Knowledge:

  • A passion for IT
  • Good communication skills both written and verbal
  • Ability to work as part of a team and independently
  • Ability to respond positively and calmly with students, parents, staff and external organisations
  • Grade 5/C in GCSE English and Grade 4/C in GCSE Maths
