Ready to turn your passion for technology into a career?

Just Accounts is looking for an enthusiastic and driven Software Developer Apprentice to join our team and develop their skills in a hands-on, supportive environment. This is an exciting opportunity to gain valuable experience working on real software projects while building the technical knowledge and professional skills needed for a career in software development.

We’re looking for someone who has a genuine passion for software development, enjoys solving problems and is naturally curious about how technology can be used to create effective solutions. You’ll be someone who is eager to learn, takes pride in their work and enjoys tackling new challenges.

You’ll join a friendly and supportive team where collaboration, learning and development are encouraged. Working alongside experienced colleagues, you’ll gain practical experience, contribute to real projects and develop your confidence as part of the team.

Alongside your role at Just Accounts, you’ll receive structured training through Baltic Apprenticeships, attending two-day training blocks every 6–8 weeks. This will give you dedicated time to develop your technical skills and work towards your apprenticeship qualification while putting your learning into practice in the workplace.

If you’re passionate about software, enjoy finding solutions and are excited to start building a career in development, this could be the opportunity for you.

In this role, you’ll work towards your Level 4 Software Development Technician qualification, delivered by our expert training team at Baltic Apprenticeships.

A Typical Day in the Job:

  • Develop and maintain code using C#/.NET and contribute to Angular development.
  • Write and optimise SQL Server queries and database changes, with exposure to PostgreSQL
  • Write and run unit, integration and regression tests, using tools such as Mabl and Playwright.
  • Investigate and fix bugs across frontend, backend and database areas.
  • Working alongside the development team using Azure DevOps and Git to push and pull code, keeping work up to date.

Full training and support will be provided by your workplace mentor and from the team at Baltic Apprenticeships.

Desired Qualities, Skills and Knowledge

  •  A passion for software development, with exposure to C#, Angular and Microsoft SQL.
  • Good problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Good communication and team work skills.
  • Proactive attitude with willingness to learn.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • A Grade 4 in GCSE Maths & Grade 4 in GCSE English.

Salary, Hours&Benefits:

  • £20,000 per annum.
  • Monday- Friday, 9:00am-5:30pm
  • First 3 months office based, with the opportunity to move to hybrid working, dependant upon development.
  • 25 days of annual leave plus birthday (increases over years of service).
  • Cycle to work scheme.
  • Private medical insurance.

This apprenticeship programme will provide you with everything you need to launch and develop your career in software development. Afterwards, we’ll support you to take the next steps, including further training and progression onto a Level 4 qualification.
