Are you passionate about technology, enjoy solving technical problems, and want to build a career in IT infrastructure and cyber security? Elevate Cloud is looking for a proactive and enthusiastic Infrastructure & Security Engineer Level 4 Apprentice to join their growing team.

Elevate Cloud provides IT support, cloud solutions, infrastructure and cyber security services to businesses, helping customers make the most of their technology while keeping their systems secure, reliable and efficient. As an apprentice, you'll become part of a team that works closely with a range of customers, giving you the opportunity to gain valuable experience across a variety of IT environments and technologies.

You'll join a supportive team of experienced IT professionals who will help you develop your technical knowledge and confidence. From day one, you'll gain hands-on experience providing technical support, troubleshooting infrastructure issues, managing Microsoft 365 environments and supporting the security of customer systems. You'll work with technologies including Microsoft Intune, Jamf, Huntress and SuperOps, giving you exposure to the tools and platforms used by modern IT service providers.

In this role, you’ll work towards your Level 4 Infrastructure and Security Apprenticeship qualification, delivered by our expert training team at Baltic Apprenticeships.

A Typical Day in the Job:

  • Provide first and second-line technical support, diagnosing and resolving hardware, software, network and connectivity issues for customers.
  • Support and troubleshoot network infrastructure, including Wi-Fi, switches, firewalls and internet connectivity.
  • Support Microsoft 365 environments, including Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint and OneDrive.
  • Configure, deploy and maintain laptops, desktops, mobile devices and peripherals, while supporting Windows operating systems and common business applications.
  • Use tools including Huntress, Microsoft Intune and Jamf to support the management, monitoring and security of customer devices and IT environments.
  • Carry out routine maintenance and monitoring tasks, including tracking and applying network patches to help prevent and resolve technical issues.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, knowledge base articles, support procedures and cloud-based recovery plans.
  • Log, manage and update support tickets through SuperOps, with the business planning to transition to Halo, ensuring issues are progressed within agreed service levels.
  • Prioritise incoming support requests, keeping customers updated and escalating more complex issues to senior members of the team where required.

Full training and support will be provided by your workplace mentor and from the team at Baltic Apprenticeships.

Desired Qualities, Skills and Knowledge

  • A genuine passion for technology with an interest in IT support, infrastructure, networking or cyber security.
  • Previous experience within an IT Support or Managed Service Provider environment would be advantageous.
  • A basic understanding of Windows operating systems and Microsoft 365.
  • An understanding of networking fundamentals, including DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP and Wi-Fi.
  • Knowledge or experience of Microsoft 365 administration would be beneficial.
  • Any experience with remote monitoring and management (RMM) tools would be advantageous.
  • An understanding of cyber security best practices.
  • An interest in VoIP and business telephony solutions.
  • Relevant IT qualifications such as CompTIA, Microsoft Fundamentals or equivalent would be beneficial.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills, with the confidence to communicate professionally with customers and colleagues.
  • Good troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities, with a methodical approach to resolving technical issues.
  • The ability to prioritise workloads and manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • A positive attitude, willingness to learn and enthusiasm for developing a career in IT.
  • A minimum of Grade 4/C in GCSE English and Maths is required for this role.

Salary, Hours & Benefits:

  • £18,000 – £20,000 per annum.
  • Monday to Friday, 9:00am – 5:00pm.
  • 1-hour unpaid lunch.
  • 20 days annual leave plus Bank Holidays.
  • Full training and support.

Your Training with Baltic Apprenticeships

This Level 4 apprenticeship provides everything you need to immerse yourself in the exciting world of infrastructure and cyber security and launch a rewarding career in IT.

You'll gain hands-on experience across a wide range of technical areas, including IT support, networking, Microsoft 365, cloud technologies, device management, cyber security and infrastructure. With our unique curriculum and one-to-one support, you'll develop the technical skills and confidence needed to progress within the IT industry.

You'll be based full-time with Elevate Cloud and will quickly become an important part of the team. Our training is 100% online, including real-time classes with our expert trainers and self-paced courses created by industry specialists.
