Baltic Apprenticeships is working in partnership with Siemlus, a forward-thinking technology provider delivering innovative IT solutions to the hospitality sector, to recruit a Network Engineer Apprentice.

This is an exciting opportunity to gain hands-on experience installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting network infrastructure while working alongside experienced engineers. You'll also work towards a Level 4 Network Engineer Apprenticeship, delivered by the expert training team at Baltic Apprenticeships.

 

 

A Typical Day in the Job:

  • Conduct on-site diagnostics to identify and resolve hardware, software, and network issues, ensuring minimal disruption to users.
  • Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot IT systems, including WiFi, LAN, CCTV, TV, and access control infrastructure.
  • Perform routine preventative maintenance, system testing, and fault resolution to maximise performance and minimise downtime.
  • Accurately document technical findings, completed work, and service reports while maintaining compliance with company procedures.
  • Collaborate with clients and internal teams to coordinate site visits, implement deployment plans, and deliver projects on schedule.
  • Escalate complex technical issues to senior engineers when required, ensuring timely resolution and adherence to service-level agreements (SLAs).

Full training and support will be provided by your workplace mentor and from the Baltic team.

 

Salary, Hours & Benefits:

  • Salary: £18,000 – £20,000 per annum
  • Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:30 PM
  • Holiday: 28 days of annual leave (including bank holidays)

Desired Qualities, Skills and Knowledge:

  • A minimum of Grade 4 in Maths and Grade 4 in English is required
  • Must be 21 or over, due to insurance purposes
  • This is a field based role, you will be away from home multiple days per week, overnight expenses paid
  • Due to the nature of the role a full drivers license is required
  • A genuine passion for technology
  • Self motivated and desire to learn new skills
  • Confident speaking to customers over the phone
  • Problem solving mind set
  • Knowledge of Software and hardware
  • Open-minded with a willingness to learn and adapt
  • A strong team player who collaborates well with others

This apprenticeship provides the skills, qualification and experience you need to immerse yourself within an exciting, fast-moving industry and become an effective Network Engineer.
