AAG IT, an award-winning business IT support provider, is offering an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic individual to join their Service Desk team as an IT Apprentice. Founded in 2009 and headquartered in Chesterfield—with additional offices in London, Manchester, and Sheffield—AAG supports businesses across the UK with tailored IT solutions, including proactive network monitoring, cyber security, cloud services, and 24/7 managed IT support.
In this hands-on role, the apprentice will assist with password resets, hardware setups, software installations, and basic troubleshooting, while learning to log and escalate support tickets using AAG’s internal systems. They will gain exposure to tools such as TeamViewer and Command Prompt, support cloud-based services like Microsoft 365, and work closely with senior technicians to build real-world technical and customer service skills. In this role, you’ll work towards your Level 3 Information Communications Technician, delivered by our expert training team at Baltic Apprenticeships.
A Typical Day in the Job:
- Assist with password resets, hardware configuration, antivirus setup, and endpoint protection installation under supervision.
- Support the implementation of multi-factor authentication and group policy application while following internal procedures.
- Accurately log support requests using Autotask and escalate issues according to SLA requirements and technical complexity
- Communicate with users via phone, email, messaging, and video calls, delivering clear and professional customer service.
- Use internal documentation and knowledge bases to perform basic troubleshooting and assist senior technicians with complex tasks.
- Configure and test new IT equipment including desktops, peripherals, routers, and software such as Microsoft Office and operating systems.
- Gain foundational knowledge in networking, cloud services (e.g., Microsoft 365), and be introduced to tools like TeamViewer and basic scripting over time.
Full training and support will be provided by your workplace mentor and from the Baltic team.
Salary, Hours & Benefits:
- £15,500 per annum
- Monday to Friday 8am till 6pm
- 37.5 hours per week
- 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays

Desired Qualities, Skills and Knowledge:
- Must have a Full UK Driving license and access to a car
- Good communication and telephone skills
- Can work well within a team and independently
- Passion for IT
- GCSE Grade 5 in English and grade 4 in Maths is required for this role
This Level 3 apprenticeship provides everything you need to immerse yourself in the exciting world of technology and launch a rewarding career in IT.
You’ll get hands-on experience in all areas of technical support, from configuring devices to supporting with software, optimising performance and setting up virtual environments. With our unique curriculum and one-to-one support, you’ll accelerate your skills and get the qualification and confidence you need to thrive in IT.
You’ll be based full time with an employer and will quickly become an important part of the team. Our training is 100% online, including real-time classes with our expert trainers and self-paced courses created by industry specialists.
