As an IT Apprentice, you will be a crucial part of the ICT Support team, serving as the first point of contact for technical support within our academies. You will provide helpdesk support, onsite and remote assistance across hub academies, and technical support for Music and Drama departments, as well as whole school and external events. This role involves working with various stakeholders, including the Trust IT Team, Academy Senior Leadership, staff, governors, and pupils.
In this role, you’ll work towards your IT Support Apprenticeship delivered by our expert training team at Baltic Apprenticeships.
A Typical Day in the Job:
- Provide in-house support for IT issues, ensuring efficient and accurate service, logging faults and responding to communications.
- Work as part of a team, demonstrating proactivity, motivation, and a customer-focused approach.
- Liaise with the Trust IT Team on network matters (servers, desktops, laptops, wireless and wired networks, phone systems, printers, software etc.) and take appropriate action.
- Install, repair and configure components, peripherals and software for PCs and networks.
- Manage storage, security, and maintenance of technical equipment, including audits and inventory.
- Maintain school printing systems and manage URL filtering.
- Administer user accounts and systems.
- Assist staff with ICT issues and provide onsite and remote support to other academies.
- Support the Music and Drama department with lighting and sound, and set up PA/AV systems for school events.
Full training and support will be provided by your workplace mentor and from the Baltic team.
Salary, Hours & Benefits:
- £14,527 per annum
- Working Monday-Friday, 8am-4pm
- 3:30pm finish on Fridays

Desired Qualities, Skills and Knowledge:
- Educated to GCSE (or equivalent) including grade C/grade 4 or above in Maths and English.
- Good analytical skills and ability to concentrate on intricate issues.
- Good written and oral communication skills.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office/Microsoft Windows 7 and 10.
- Good organisational skills.
- Outstanding customer care skills
