Are you passionate about IT, naturally curious and someone who enjoys solving problems? Kaika Tech is looking for an enthusiastic IT Apprentice to join our growing team. We provide professional IT solutions and consultancy to organisations across the UK, supporting businesses with IT support, cloud productivity, infrastructure, cyber security and hardware services. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain hands-on experience across a wide range of exciting areas of IT.

We’re looking for someone with a genuine passion for technology, a willingness to learn and a natural ability to think through problems and find solutions. You’ll be someone who enjoys a challenge, takes pride in their work and has a proactive approach to learning and development. You’ll join a friendly and supportive team who will help you build your technical knowledge and confidence, while learning from experienced IT professionals and getting involved in real-world challenges.

Alongside your practical experience at Kaika Tech, you’ll receive structured training through Baltic Apprenticeships, attending two-day training blocks every 4–6 weeks. This will allow you to develop your technical knowledge, work towards your apprenticeship qualification and put your learning into practice in the workplace. In this role, you’ll work towards your Level 3 Information Communications Technician qualification, delivered by our expert training team at Baltic Apprenticeships.

A Typical Day in the Job:

  •  Handle incoming calls and manage support tickets via the internal system.
  • Provide technical support remotely or on-site, utilising our help desk software.
  • Troubleshoot IT issues using tools like Task Manager, Command Prompt, PowerShell and Dato RMM.
  • Configure, install and upgrade hardware, including routers and firewalls, both physically and virtually.
  • Perform regular system maintenance, including managing daily backups.
  • Prepare new devices (laptops, desktops, mobile phones) for customers, ensuring they're fully set up and ready to go.

Full training and support will be provided by your workplace mentor and from the team at Baltic Apprenticeships.

Desired Qualities, Skills and Knowledge

  • A genuine interest in IT
  • A strong desire to succeed and progress in a technical career
  • Basic knowledge of Windows and Microsoft Office software
  • Excellent communication skills, whether it’s through email, phone, or face-to-face
  • The ability to prioritise tasks effectively and manage competing deadlines
  • A team-oriented approach but also the ability to work independently
  • A positive and patient attitude towards customer service, with a willingness to help users who may be experiencing technical difficulties
  • Able to listen, reassure customers, and accurately record and prioritise support requests
  • A Grade 5 in GCSE English & a Grade 4 in GCSE Maths

Salary, Hours&Benefits:

  • £19,000- £21,000 per annum
  • Monday to Friday, 9:00 am – 5:30 pm
  • 20 days annual leave plus bank holidays

This apprenticeship programme will provide you with everything you need to launch and develop your career in IT support. Afterwards, we’ll support you to take the next steps, including further training and progression onto a Level 4 qualification.

Your Training with Baltic Apprenticeships

This Level 3 apprenticeship provides everything you need to immerse yourself in the exciting world of technology and launch a rewarding career in IT. 

You’ll get hands-on experience in all areas of technical support, from configuring devices to supporting with software, optimising performance and setting up virtual environments. With our unique curriculum and one-to-one support, you’ll accelerate your skills and get the qualification and confidence you need to thrive in IT.

You’ll be based full time with an employer and will quickly become an important part of the team. Our training is 100% online, including real-time classes with our expert trainers and self-paced courses created by industry specialists.
