Ready to Launch Your Career in IT with NCS Support Services?

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an IT Apprentice to join a well-established and forward-thinking managed IT services provider. With over 30 years of experience, the company supports businesses across the UK with everything from day-to-day IT support to cloud services and cybersecurity, helping organisations stay secure, productive and ahead of the curve.

This opportunity is ideal for someone with a genuine interest in IT support who is eager to start their career in the industry. The ideal candidate will be motivated, curious, and willing to learn, someone who enjoys problem-solving and is keen to build their technical knowledge in a real-world environment. The successful applicant will become part of a friendly and supportive team of experienced IT professionals. From helpdesk technicians to engineers, the team works collaboratively to deliver excellent service, providing ongoing guidance and encouragement as the apprentice develops their skills.

As part of the apprenticeship, the individual will receive structured training delivered in 2-day blocks every 4–6 weeks with Baltic Apprenticeships, alongside hands-on experience in the workplace, offering the perfect balance of learning and practical development to kickstart a career in IT.

In this role, you’ll work towards your Level 3 Information Communications Technician qualification, delivered by our expert training team at Baltic Apprenticeships.

A Typical Day in the Job:

  • Support IT security tasks including user setup, permissions, MFA, and password resets in line with policy.
  • Use documentation and security procedures to carry out tasks accurately and compliantly.
  • Log, triage, and escalate tickets via ConnectWise to meet SLAs.
  • Provide first-line technical support, including answering calls, emails, and remote support for internal and external users.
  • Maintain audit trails and support systems using platforms like Microsoft Azure and Microsoft Lighthouse.

Full training and support will be provided by your workplace mentor and from the team at Baltic Apprenticeships.

Desired Qualities, Skills and Knowledge

  • Motivated and eager to learn within an IT support environment
  • Reliable, with a strong sense of responsibility and punctuality
  • Confident communicator, both over the phone and in person
  • Comfortable working in a busy, fast-paced, and phone-heavy setting
  • Demonstrates a genuine interest in IT support and technology
  • Willingness to develop technical skills and problem-solving abilities
  • Holds a driving license or is currently learning to drive (preferred but not essential)
  • Grade 4 in GCSE Maths & Grade 5 in GCSE English 

Salary, Hours & Benefits:

  • £16,000-£19,000 per annum.
  • 8am-5pm Monday to Friday.
  • 28 days annual leave including bank holidays.
  • Accrue extra 2 days after 2 years service.

This apprenticeship programme will provide you with everything you need to launch and develop your career in IT support. Afterwards, we’ll support you to take the next steps, including further training and progression onto a Level 4 qualification.

Your Training with Baltic Apprenticeships

This Level 3 apprenticeship provides everything you need to immerse yourself in the exciting world of technology and launch a rewarding career in IT. 

You’ll get hands-on experience in all areas of technical support, from configuring devices to supporting with software, optimising performance and setting up virtual environments. With our unique curriculum and one-to-one support, you’ll accelerate your skills and get the qualification and confidence you need to thrive in IT.

You’ll be based full time with an employer and will quickly become an important part of the team. Our training is 100% online, including real-time classes with our expert trainers and self-paced courses created by industry specialists.
