Cambridge Support is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic IT Apprentice to join its growing team. Cambridge Support is an established IT services provider delivering managed IT support, cloud solutions, and consultancy to businesses and charities across the UK. The successful apprentice will join a friendly and supportive team of experienced IT professionals who are committed to helping new starters succeed. Working alongside knowledgeable colleagues, the apprentice will receive guidance and mentoring while gaining hands-on experience in a real IT support environment. Alongside their day-to-day role, the apprentice will complete their training with Baltic Apprenticeships, attending structured two-day training blocks approximately every 4–6 weeks. These sessions will support the development of both technical knowledge and practical skills, helping the apprentice build a strong foundation for a successful career in IT.

This opportunity presents a start date of April 2026.

In this role, you’ll work towards your Level 3 Information Communications Technician qualification, delivered by our expert training team at Baltic Apprenticeships.

A Typical Day in the Job:

  • Assist with IT security processes, including password resets, MSA resets/enrolments, data encryption, and internal verification procedures.
  • Help monitor and investigate potential security breaches and support anti-virus configuration and group policy management.
  • Interpret and follow technical documentation, including technical specifications, knowledge base articles, and supplier documentation stored on SharePoint.
  • Support service delivery by working within Service Level Agreements (SLAs) using the Halo ticketing system.
  • Record, update, and track support requests and document tasks and escalations within the ticketing system.
  • Provide technical support to users via phone, email, ticketing systems, and occasional face-to-face site visits.
  • Install, maintain, and configure IT hardware, including RAM upgrades, SSD replacements, routers, switches, firewalls, and Bluetooth devices (e.g., printers, projectors, headsets).
  • Assist with network infrastructure tasks, such as Wi-Fi port configuration, switch and router setup, cable management, and server installation.
  • Support cloud-based systems and services, including Microsoft 365, Azure, SharePoint, and Meraki platforms.
  • Use PowerShell to manage and administer Microsoft 365 environments.

Full training and support will be provided by your workplace mentor and from the team at Baltic Apprenticeships.

  • Good organisational skills, with the ability to manage tasks and prioritise workload effectively.
  • Enthusiastic and motivated attitude towards work and learning.
  • Positive approach to problem-solving and challenges.
  • Good attention to detail and commitment to completing tasks accurately.
  • You must be working towards or hold a valid UK driving licence.
  • Grade 4 in GCSE Maths & Grade 5 in GCSE English.

Salary, Hours & Benefits:

  • £16,540-£26,477 per annum.
  • 40 hours per week.

This apprenticeship programme will provide you with everything you need to launch and develop your career in IT support. Afterwards, we’ll support you to take the next steps, including further training and progression onto a Level 4 qualification.
