In this role, you’ll work towards your Level 3 IT Support Apprenticeship, delivered by our expert training team at Baltic Apprenticeships.

 

A Typical Day in the Job:

 

  • The apprentice will be involved with security processes such as Account Management, active directory, and Microsoft 365, password resets, access to restricted areas across the school, server rooms, encrypting laptops, setting up multiple factor authentication on Microsoft 365, configuring and monitoring anti-virus software.
  • The apprentice will use documentation to conduct their duties through a policy management system called Evri. They have an acceptable usage policy for students and staff in place, have security policies which cover sensitive info and data protection.
  • The learner will provide technical support to customers both internally and externally through teams, phone, email, WhatsApp.
  • The apprentice will be required to install, configure and upgrade software through Microsoft. Massive Microsoft users so, there is a lot of involvement with windows desktop, windows office, 365 and everything else that comes under that.
  • For network devices the apprentice will be required to shadow and learn to understand how a network is setup for both wired and wireless networks. Knowledge will be passed on and give them exposure to the entire network as possible. Learning on the job, learning from colleagues.

Full training and support will be provided by your workplace mentor and from the Baltic team.

 

Salary, Hours & Benefits:

  • £15,000 – £16,000 per annum
  • Monday to Friday 37.5 hours per week
  • 25 days + bank holiday

Desired Qualities, Skills and Knowledge:

  • Grade 4 in Maths and 5 in English is essential for this role
  • Someone with a mature personality
  • Good customer service skills
  • Great personality is crucial
  • Willingness to learn
