Direct2Market Ltd is looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Data Apprentice who has a genuine interest in data, technology, and analytical thinking. The ideal candidate will be eager to learn, ready to embrace new challenges, and passionate about developing strong data skills. This role is perfect for someone beginning their career journey and looking to gain practical experience in a supportive and collaborative workplace.

As part of the apprenticeship programme, the Data Apprentice will receive structured training delivered by Baltic Apprenticeships. This includes 2-day training blocks every 4–6 weeks through their SMART Classroom online platform. This blended training model combines focused learning sessions with practical, on-the-job experience, ensuring the apprentice builds confidence and competence throughout their apprenticeship journey.

In this role, you’ll work towards your Level 3 Data Technician qualification, delivered by our expert training team at Baltic Apprenticeships 

A Typical Day in the Job:  

  • Assist with the onboarding of new products by gathering supplier data, formatting it correctly, and ensuring it flows through to live listings accurately and efficiently.
  • Review existing product content for data quality issues such as missing attributes, incorrect categorisation, or underperforming listings, and recommend practical improvements.
  • Populate and manage import templates for listing creation and updates across Amazon, eBay, and other channels ensuring titles, descriptions, attributes, images, and categorisation meet platform requirements and best practice standards.
  • Support the marketing, merchandising, and purchasing teams in maintaining and updating data across various internal systems and retail marketplaces, keeping information accurate and up to date.
  • Help monitor listing health across platforms, flagging errors, suppressed listings, or content gaps that could be impacting visibility or sales performance.
  • Provide general support to the wider business with company systems and infrastructure, including entry-level IT support and troubleshooting day-to-day system queries.
  • Participate in your apprenticeship programme fully, completing all training, coursework, and assessments to a high standard alongside your day-to-day responsibilities.

Full training and support will be provided by your workplace mentor and from the team at Baltic Apprenticeships.  

Desired Qualities, Skills and Knowledge  

  • An interest in eCommerce, online retail, or digital technology. You don't need experience, but genuine curiosity goes a long way.
  • Strong attention to detail you'll be working with large volumes of product data where accuracy really matters.
  • A methodical and organised approach to tasks, with the ability to manage your own workload and meet deadlines.
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel. Comfortable with data entry, formulas including VLOOKUP and organising large sets of information.
  • Good written communication skills. You'll be writing and reviewing product content that represents our brand across major marketplaces.
  • A positive, can-do attitude and willingness to get stuck in across different areas of the business.
  • Any previous exposure to platforms such as Amazon, eBay, or similar even as a buyer is a bonus but absolutely not required.
  • Grade 5 in GCSE Maths and Grade 4 in GCSE English.

Salary, Hours & Benefits:  

  • £16,640 per annum.
  • 8.30am – 5.30pm, Monday to Friday.
  • 26 days holiday plus your birthday off (pro rata).
