Network Engineer Apprenticeship

Alongside your role at Probado, you'll work towards a Level 4 Infrastructure & Security Engineer Apprenticeship with Baltic Apprenticeships. Your training will be delivered through immersive two-day learning blocks every 4-6 weeks, giving you dedicated time to develop your technical knowledge while applying your learning in the workplace. You'll also benefit from one-to-one support from expert coaches and gain industry-relevant skills that will prepare you for a successful career in network engineering.

In this role, you’ll work towards your Level 4 Infrastructure & Security Engineer qualification, delivered by our expert training team at Baltic Apprenticeships.

A Typical Day in the Job:

• Answer questions and solve problems for customers regarding product operation.
• Analyse problems and solutions and make recommendations for process improvement.
• Communicate verbally with customers and co-workers.
• Work as part of a team or independently.
• Perform testing procedures to determine cause of problem and implement solutions.
• Train users on proper operation of equipment.

Full training and support will be provided by your workplace mentor and from the team at Baltic Apprenticeships.

Desired Qualities, Skills and Knowledge

• Experience with virtualisation technologies, including Xen Server (XCP) and VMware.
• Knowledge of VoIP platforms such as Asterisk/FreePBX and 3CX; SIP experience is advantageous.
• Proficiency in Microsoft 365 (Office 365) administration and support.
• Experience working with Microsoft Azure services and cloud infrastructure.
• Good understanding of Microsoft licensing, including NCE and SPLA.
• Strong networking skills, including the design, implementation, and troubleshooting of VPNs, VLANs, and Wi-Fi networks.
• Experience with enterprise hardware, including WatchGuard, DrayTek, Dell servers and switches, Yealink, and Cisco equipment.
• Commercial awareness
• Grade 4 in GCSE Maths and Grade 4 in GCSE English

Your Training with Baltic Apprenticeships

You’ll get hands-on experience in all areas of technical support, from configuring devices to supporting with software, optimising performance and setting up virtual environments. With our unique curriculum and one-to-one support, you’ll accelerate your skills and get the qualification and confidence you need to thrive in IT.

You’ll be based full time with an employer and will quickly become an important part of the team. Our training is 100% online, including real-time classes with our expert trainers and self-paced courses created by industry specialists.
