In this role, you’ll work towards your Level 3 Information Communications Technician qualification delivered by our expert training team at Baltic Apprenticeships.
A Typical Day in the Job:
As an IT Support Technician Apprentice, you'll work alongside experienced IT professionals, gaining exposure to a wide range of technologies and support functions. Your responsibilities will include:
- Providing first-line IT support to colleagues across the business, troubleshooting hardware and software issues
- Assisting with the setup, configuration, and deployment of laptops, desktop devices, and meeting room equipment
- Supporting users across both Windows 11 and MacOS environments
- Helping to manage and maintain IT equipment and asset inventories
- Working with the onsite support team to resolve technical incidents and service requests
- Escalating more complex issues to the 2nd and 3rd Line Support teams when required
- Assisting with device builds, software installations, and system updates
- Supporting meeting room technology and ensuring equipment is functioning correctly
- Learning basic scripting and automation techniques to improve IT processes
- Contributing to documentation and knowledge-sharing within the IT team
- Working closely with colleagues across the business to deliver an excellent user experience

Desired Qualities, Skills and Knowledge:
We're looking for someone who is enthusiastic about technology and eager to learn. The ideal candidate will have:
- A genuine passion for IT and technology
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
- A positive attitude and willingness to learn new skills
- Good organisational and time management skills
- The ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
- Basic understanding of computer hardware, software, and operating systems
- An interest in Windows, MacOS, networking, or IT support
- A proactive approach to challenges and continuous improvement
- GCSE Maths at Grade 5/C and English at Grade 4/C or above is required for this programme
This apprenticeship programme will provide you with everything you need to launch and develop your career in IT. Afterwards, we'll support you to take the next steps, including further training and progression onto a Level 4 qualification.
Your Training with Baltic:
This Level 3 apprenticeship provides everything you need to immerse yourself in the exciting world of technology and launch a rewarding career in IT.
You'll get hands-on experience in all areas of technical support, from configuring devices to supporting with software, optimising performance and setting up virtual environments. With our unique curriculum and one-to-one support, you'll accelerate your skills and get the qualification and confidence you need to thrive in IT.
You'll be based full time with an employer and will quickly become an important part of the team. Our training is 100% online, including real-time classes with our expert trainers and self-paced courses created by industry specialists.
