You’ll become part of a supportive and collaborative Asset Data team at Home Group, where your ideas are valued and learning is encouraged every step of the way. This is a fantastic opportunity to begin your career in data while gaining real, hands-on experience in a professional environment.
As a Data Apprentice, you’ll work with property and asset data, helping to ensure information across systems is accurate, organised and up to date. You’ll support the team by checking data for errors, preparing information for reporting, and helping colleagues gain useful insights from data. You’ll receive high-quality training through Baltic Apprenticeships, including structured learning and regular training sessions designed to build your knowledge and confidence in the data industry.
In this role, you’ll work towards your Level 3 Data qualification, delivered by our expert training team at Baltic Apprenticeships.
A Typical Day in the Job:
- Maintaining accurate and up-to-date property and asset data across internal systems
- Checking data for errors or missing information and supporting with corrections
- Using Excel and internal systems to organise, clean and prepare datasets
- Creating simple reports, charts, graphs and tables to highlight key information and trends
- Combining data from multiple sources to help present clear insights to managers and colleagues
- Supporting the Asset Data team with day-to-day data tasks while developing your skills
Full training and support will be provided by your workplace mentor and from the team at Baltic Apprenticeships.
Desired Qualities, Skills and Knowledge:
- Interest in working with numbers, data and information
- Logical thinking and the ability to spot when data may not look correct
- Comfortable using computers and keen to develop skills in Excel and data tools
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal
- Organised, reliable and able to manage time effectively
- Positive attitude with a willingness to learn and develop new skills
- Must be a current or former Home Group customer (e.g., living in a Home Group property or previously using supported services)
- Grade 5 in GCSE Maths and Grade 4 in GCSE English.
Salary, Hours & Benefits:
- £10.00 – £12.21 per hour depending on age
- Monday – Friday, typically between 9:00am – 5:30pm
- Hybrid working with 2 days per week in the Newcastle upon Tyne office
