Carden IT Services is a proactive managed IT support and cybersecurity provider supporting businesses across the UK. With a strong focus on reliability, security and customer service, the company delivers tailored IT solutions that help organisations work smarter and stay protected. As part of its continued growth, Carden IT Services is now looking to recruit an IT Apprentice to join the team.

The successful candidate will be someone with a genuine interest in technology, a positive attitude and a real eagerness to learn and develop a career in IT. This role is ideal for an individual who is curious, motivated and keen to gain hands-on experience in a professional IT environment.

The IT Apprentice will work alongside a friendly, knowledgeable and supportive team, gaining exposure to real-world IT support and problem-solving while being guided by experienced professionals. In addition to on-the-job learning, the apprentice will receive structured training through Baltic Apprenticeships, including two-day training blocks every 4–6 weeks, designed to build both technical skills and industry knowledge.

In this role, you’ll work towards your Level 3 Information Communications Technician qualification, delivered by our expert training team at Baltic Apprenticeships.

A Typical Day in the Job:

  • Triaging incoming support tickets via phone, email, and self-service portal.
  • Handling password resets, account unlocks, and sign in issues.
  • Joiners, movers, and leavers tasks including creating, updating, and disabling user accounts using documented processes or automation.
  • Releasing quarantined or held emails once approved.
  • Mailbox administration tasks such as shared mailbox access, distribution lists, aliases, and permissions.
  • Providing first line Microsoft 365 support (Outlook, Teams, OneDrive).
  • Fixing common end user issues including slow devices, application problems, and printer faults.
  • Running remote support sessions, following runbooks, documenting actions, and confirming resolution.
  • Installing approved software using RMM tools and standard deployment packages.
  • Performing basic endpoint health checks (Windows updates, disk space, reboot cycles, antivirus status).
  • Responding to standard alerts where permitted, escalating when required.
  • Escalating issues to Level 2 or Level 3 support with clear notes, evidence, and user impact.
  • Keeping support portals tidy by reconciling queues, removing duplicates, and confirming ticket ownership.

Full training and support will be provided by your workplace mentor and from the team at Baltic Apprenticeships.

  • Grade 4 in GCSE Maths & Grade 5 in GCSE English 

Salary, Hours & Benefits:

  • £18,000 per annum.
  • 9am-4.30pm Monday to Friday.
  • 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays.

This apprenticeship programme will provide you with everything you need to launch and develop your career in IT support. Afterwards, we’ll support you to take the next steps, including further training and progression onto a Level 4 qualification.

Your Training with Baltic Apprenticeships

This Level 3 apprenticeship provides everything you need to immerse yourself in the exciting world of technology and launch a rewarding career in IT. 

You’ll get hands-on experience in all areas of technical support, from configuring devices to supporting with software, optimising performance and setting up virtual environments. With our unique curriculum and one-to-one support, you’ll accelerate your skills and get the qualification and confidence you need to thrive in IT.

You’ll be based full time with an employer and will quickly become an important part of the team. Our training is 100% online, including real-time classes with our expert trainers and self-paced courses created by industry specialists.
