The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting and developing the digital systems that keep the company’s operations running smoothly—from advanced automated manufacturing equipment to the nationwide installer network. This hands-on apprenticeship offers the chance to work in a modern, purpose-built facility, gaining valuable experience alongside industry experts in a culture that values innovation, quality, and continuous improvement.

In this role, you’ll work towards your Level 3 Information Communications Technician qualification delivered by our expert training team at Baltic Apprenticeships.

A Typical Day in the Job:

  • Provide first-line IT support to internal and external users via phone, email, video calls, and face to face resolving and escalating issues as needed.
  • Assist with IT security tasks, including password resets, multi-factor authentication, anti virus configuration, and following documented procedures.
  • Install, configure and update hardware, software and peripherals including troubleshooting using tools such as Task Manager, Command Prompt and FoxPro.
  • Support network and VPN connectivity for wired and wireless devices, escalating complex issues to external suppliers.
  • Maintain accurate records of IT issues and tasks, helping to meet service level agreements and ensuring an audit trail.
  • Gain exposure to cloud technologies (Office 365, SharePoint, Azure) and scripting tools (PowerShell, batch scripts) to automate and improve processes.

Full training and support will be provided by your workplace mentor and from the Baltic team.

Salary, Hours & Benefits:

  • £16,000-£19,000 per annum.
  • Monday to Friday 9am-5pm.
  • 20 days annual leave plus Bank Holidays.

Desired Qualities, Skills and Knowledge:

  • Genuinely enthusiastic and passionate about IT, showing a clear interest in technology and a desire to build a career in the field.
  • Strong willingness to learn and grow, with motivation to take on new challenges and develop skills rapidly.
  • Flexibility to key, as the role may evolve quickly, must be comfortable adapting to changing responsibilities and environments.
  • An open mindset is essential, with the ability to accept feedback, explore new ideas, and stay open to different ways of working.
  • Demonstrate a long term interest in progressing within the company, showing readiness to step into a more advanced role once the apprenticeship concludes.
  • Grade 5 in GCSE English and Grade 4 in GCSE Maths.
