This autumn, we’ll welcome our first cohort of learners onto our new Data Analyst Level 4 course. This programme has been designed to offer comprehensive insight into the key aspects of Data Analysis, incorporating cutting-edge tools and techniques to help maximise the potential of data within your organisation.
The course covers a broad range of data skills and competencies, including data architecture, data quality, data manipulation, data integration, statistical analysis, and data presentation.
The programme follows national standards co-developed by tech industry leaders including Microsoft, Cisco, Cap Gemini, BT, Hewlett Packard, Oracle and Optimity.
I'm already working with data - is this the right programme for me?
Absolutely. The Level 4 Data Analyst Apprenticeship is perfect for junior data analysts looking to build on their skills, learn best practice, fill in a few gaps and formalise their expertise within a recognised qualification. It’s suitable for anyone who currently deals with data as a key element of their job, such as a Data Analyst, Data Manager, Data Scientist, Data Modeller, Data Architect, or Data Engineer.
Data Analysts come from all kinds of academic and professional backgrounds, including mathematics, statistics, computer programming and business administration. Often, data professionals work by applying knowledge gleaned from a mixture of formal education, self-directed learning, colleagues’ advice and experience, instinct, logic, and pure trial and error! Our training underpins the knowledge, skills and behaviours a successful data analyst requires in their role, and is an excellent work-based option for professional development.
If you’re not currently working with data and are looking for an entry-level training route that will help you break into a Data Analyst role, keep your eyes peeled for our Level 3 Data Technician Apprenticeship, which will be introduced in the coming months.
Why Learn with Baltic?
The Level 4 qualification is a two-year workforce development programme, fully integrated within your current job role. Unlike college-based apprenticeship programmes using a day-release training schedule, you’ll be based full-time in your workplace, with selected weeks reserved exclusively for your training.
At Baltic, we were the first apprenticeship provider to offer a completely digital apprenticeship training platform. You’ll learn in the SMART Classroom, an interactive real-time platform blending lectures, hands-on practice and instructor interaction to create an engaging learning environment that you can join from anywhere with an internet connection.
In addition to the technical training led by our subject matter specialists, you’ll also be supported every step of the way with a dedicated Baltic Learning Mentor. They’ll work with you to develop your key skills, help you evidence your competencies, and ensure that you feel fully prepared for your End Point Assessment.
What will this apprenticeship cost?
The brilliant thing about apprenticeships is that they offer incredible value for money. For a learner based in a small to medium sized business, the government will fund between 95% and 100% of the training fees. In larger organisations, training is often pre-paid through existing ring-fenced funds from your Apprenticeship Levy contributions.
Baltic apprentices also have access to your choice of additional vendor qualification, which can cost up to £1345 commercially.
Additional vendor qualifications
As an added extra, learners enrolled on our Data Analyst Apprenticeship can choose to complete one of our vendor qualifications. Vendor qualifications are software-specific professional training modules, exams or certifications that have been created by industry leaders. Choose one of the following Microsoft Azure vendor qualifications:
Designing an Azure Data Solution: Learn to design Azure data storage solutions, design data processing solutions, and design for data security and compliance.
Designing and implementing a Data Science Solution on Azure: Learn to set up an Azure Machine Learning workspace, run experiments and train models, optimise and manage models, and deploy and consume models.
Implementing an Azure Data Solution: Learn to implement data storage solutions, manage and develop data processing, and monitor and optimise data solutions.
Each of the above vendor qualifications is assessed by an exam, developed by Microsoft. As your career progresses, you can combine these vendor qualifications with other modules to become a Microsoft Certified Data Engineer Associate.
