Baltic Apprenticeships Supports Hundreds of JLR Employees in Developing Critical Data Skills

Baltic Apprenticeships, a specialist provider of data and digital apprenticeships, is supporting JLR in building organisation-wide data capability, with hundreds of employees now enrolled across Level 3, Level 4 and Level 5 Data apprenticeship programmes. This investment is helping equip colleagues with the digital and analytical skills needed to support JLR’s Reimagine strategy.

The scale of delivery represents one of the largest data apprenticeship cohorts currently supported by Baltic, reflecting the growing demand for advanced data skills across major UK employers and the increasing importance of data-led decision-making in premium, luxury vehicle production.

The initiative launched in January 2025 with 80 employees joining a tailored Level 4 Data Analyst apprenticeship and has since expanded significantly. With the launch of the Level 3 Data Technician apprenticeship last September and the first cohort of Level 5 Data Engineer apprentices in early 2026, hundreds of JLR employees are enrolled in a Data Apprenticeship programme which is aligned with their role and their personal growth plan.

Baltic’s Be-Spoke delivery model is developed in collaboration with each employer, aligning curriculum content, tools and project work to reflect the organisation’s specific technology stack and strategic objectives. At JLR, this ensures learners apply their knowledge directly within their roles, helping to deliver immediate business impact while supporting the precision, quality and efficiency required in modern luxury vehicle manufacturing.

The Level 3 Data & Business Insights apprenticeship builds core data literacy skills, while the Level 4 Data Analyst programme develops practical expertise in tools such as Python, SQL and Tableau. The Level 5 Data Engineer apprenticeship extends this further, focusing on designing and optimising the data infrastructure that supports enterprise-wide decision-making. All apprentices also learn how to use AI safely and effectively to streamline processes and increase work efficiency.

Learners benefit from live online teaching, guided self-study and one-to-one coaching, alongside contextualised project work aligned to JLR’s priorities, including opportunities to apply data skills to real business challenges across engineering, manufacturing, quality and operational excellence.

The scale and progression of the programme reflect JLR’s commitment to building a strong data and AI culture, equipping employees not only to understand and analyse information, but also to harness AI-powered tools and develop digital capabilities needed for the future.
