Baltic Apprenticeships Is Now an ISO 9001 Certified Training Provider

Internationally recognised quality standards – and what this means for the employers and apprentices we support.

Baltic Apprenticeships has achieved ISO 9001 certification, the internationally recognised standard for Quality Management Systems.

ISO 9001 is an independent assessment of how an organisation operates. It reviews whether processes are structured and controlled, whether risks are managed systematically, whether leadership is accountable for quality outcomes, and whether continuous improvement is embedded into day-to-day practice

For our employer partners and apprentices, this certification provides external validation of the systems already in place across Baltic.

What does ISO 9001 mean in practice?

Achieving ISO 9001 certification confirms that:

  • Our processes are documented, consistent and monitored
  • Performance is measured and reviewed at leadership level
  • Risks – including funding and compliance risk – are identified and managed proactively
  • Employer and apprentice feedback is formally captured and acted upon
  • Continuous improvement is built into our operational structure

It recognises that quality at Baltic is not dependent on individual teams or individuals – it is built into how we operate as an organisation.

What ISO 9001 means for employers

For employers investing in apprenticeships, ISO 9001 provides additional assurance that:

  • Delivery is supported by structured, quality-controlled processes
  • Compliance requirements are managed within a formal system
  • Performance and outcomes are monitored consistently
  • Feedback and complaints are handled through defined procedures
  • An external audit has independently reviewed and validated our quality framework

For larger organisations, public sector bodies and procurement teams, this level of external verification can be particularly important. It reduces risk and strengthens confidence in your training partner.

What ISO 9001 means for apprentices

For apprentices, ISO 9001 certification reinforces that:

  • Learning quality is monitored and reviewed
  • Safeguarding, welfare and support processes are structured and accountable
  • Feedback leads to measurable action
  • Outcomes are tracked and continuously improved

It provides an additional layer of trust in the systems supporting their development.

What ISO 9001 means for Baltic Apprenticeships

ISO 9001 certification does not represent a change in direction. It formally recognises the quality management systems already embedded across Baltic.

As Kristian Hudson, Director of Quality, explains:

“ISO 9001 formalises the standards we hold ourselves to every day. It reflects the structured, quality-led approach already embedded across our teams and provides further assurance to the employers and apprentices we support.”

The certification process involved a rigorous independent audit of our processes, controls and governance. The outcome confirms that Baltic meets internationally recognised standards for quality management.

Quality in apprenticeship delivery requires ongoing oversight, review and improvement. Employer expectations evolve, regulatory requirements change and workforce needs shift.

ISO 9001 reinforces our commitment to structured, accountable and continuously improving delivery – providing our partners with confidence that quality is systematically managed, not assumed.
