SPG Intelligence is seeking an aspiring Software Development Apprentice who is genuinely passionate about technology and eager to build a career in the industry. This opportunity is ideal for someone who shows curiosity, takes initiative, and actively looks for ways to learn. Whether through experimenting with code in their own time, exploring new tools, or approaching problems creatively.

The successful candidate will join a collaborative and supportive team of experienced engineers, analysts, and technical specialists who are committed to helping them grow. At SPG Intelligence, teamwork, trust, and continuous improvement are central to the culture, ensuring the apprentice receives guidance, encouragement, and the opportunity to contribute from day one.

Alongside their day-to-day role, the apprentice will receive structured training delivered by Baltic Apprenticeships, equipping them with the technical knowledge and practical skills needed to succeed. This combination of hands-on experience and dedicated learning will provide a strong foundation for developing into a confident software developer.

In this role, you’ll work towards your Level 3 Software Development Technician qualification, delivered by our expert training team at Baltic Apprenticeships.

A Typical Day in the Job:

  • Strong understanding of core programming fundamentals (e.g. loops, functions, data structures).
  • Knowledge of at least one programming language (e.g. C#, JavaScript/TypeScript).
  • Experience working with databases (e.g. SQL, MongoDB, Cosmos DB).
  • Understanding of version control using Git.
  • Basic understanding of at least one framework (e.g. .NET, React).
  • Preferable to have full-stack exposure across frontend and backend technologies.

Full training and support will be provided by your workplace mentor and from the team at Baltic Apprenticeships.

  • Adaptability in a fast-paced environment.
  • Problem-solving mindset.
  • Grade 6 in GCSE Maths & Grade 4 in GCSE English.

Salary, Hours & Benefits:

  • £22,000 per annum.
  • 9am-5pm, Monday to Friday.
  • 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays

This apprenticeship programme will provide you with everything you need to launch and develop your career in software development. Afterwards, we’ll support you to take the next steps, including further training and progression onto a Level 4 qualification.

 

Your Training with Baltic Apprenticeships

You’ll be based full time with an employer and will quickly become an important part of the team. Our training is 100% online, including real-time classes with our expert trainers and self-paced courses created by industry specialists.
