Baltic are working in partnership with Noise Agency, a strategic digital and marketing agency that delivers bespoke web, design, and marketing solutions to help businesses grow their online presence and engage their audiences.
As a Software Development Apprentice, you will support the development and maintenance of web applications using technologies such as PHP, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and WordPress. Working alongside experienced developers, you will gain hands-on experience in building features, assisting with database and API integration, testing and debugging code, and contributing to technical documentation, while collaborating with internal teams in a professional development environment.
A Typical Day in the Job:
- Develop and maintain web applications using PHP, Java, HTML, CSS
- Build and manage website content using WordPress
- Implement and maintain database connections and API integrations
- Follow coding standards, structured design principles, and best practices
- Conduct unit testing and support debugging and issue resolution
- Create and maintain technical documentation (e.g. use case diagrams, workflows)
- Collaborate with internal teams and contribute in meetings with progress updates
- Produce clean, maintainable code and support continuous improvement of development processes
- Full training and support will be provided by your workplace mentor and from the Baltic team.
Salary, Hours & Benefits:
- £18,000 to £20,000 per annum
- Monday to Friday 9am-5:30pm
- 23 days annual leave plus Bank Holidays

Desired Qualities, Skills and Knowledge:
- Strong understanding of one or more web technologies including PHP, MySQL, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
- Knowledge of accessibility standards and/or security compliance best practices
- Understanding of the underlying systems and architecture used in web application development
- Demonstrates a genuine passion for software development
- Completed a Level 3 Software Developer Apprenticeship – Desirable
- Experience creating and developing code/Programming
- Can provide examples of work on a Github
- Minimum GCSE Grade 4/C in English and Maths required
Your Training with Baltic:
With our unique apprenticeship programme, you'll build an impressive range of coding skills – and learn to thrive as a junior developer.
You’ll be based full time with an employer and will quickly become an important part of the team. Our training is 100% online, including real-time classes with our expert trainers and self-paced courses created by industry specialists.
