As a Network Engineer Apprentice, you will provide first and second line support across the Trust, ensuring reliable, secure, and high-performing IT systems. Working through the Trust’s central IT Helpdesk, you’ll deliver both remote and in-person support across all academies.

In this role, you’ll work towards your Level 4 Network Engineer qualification, delivered by our expert training team at Baltic Apprenticeships.
A Typical Day in the Job:
- Providing first and second line IT support to a wide range of stakeholders
- Detecting, diagnosing and resolving hardware and software issues
- Installing, maintaining and repairing a wide range of IT hardware
- Deploying, managing and reloading software installations and computer images
- Administering user accounts and groups within Active Directory, Office 365 and the Trust’s MIS system (Arbor)
- Supporting stakeholders with the Trust’s MIS system (Arbor)
- Proactively monitoring and reviewing IT services
- Ensuring cyber security and GDPR procedures are followed
- Tagging IT assets and maintaining the asset register and software inventory
- Conducting basic safety checks on IT equipment in line with Health & Safety procedures
- Observing and reporting IT risks to the Network Manager
- Producing documentation and delivering stakeholder training where appropriate
- Adhering to academy and Trust policies at all times
Full training and support will be provided by your workplace mentor and from the team at Baltic Apprenticeships.
Desired Qualities, Skills and Knowledge
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels
- Strong customer service mindset
- Effective time management and prioritisation skills, working to deadlines
- Ability to troubleshoot independently and collaboratively
- Knowledge of Microsoft operating systems and Office 365
- Educated to A-Level standard or equivalent
- Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle
- Grade 4 in GCSE Maths & Grade 5 in English at GCSE is required for this programme
- Desirable:
- Experience in the education sector
- Experience in a similar IT support role
- Relevant professional or Health & Safety qualifications
Salary, Hours & Benefits:
- £25,252 per annum.
- 37.5 hours per week
- Working Monday to Friday, 7:30am – 4:00pm

Your Training with Baltic Apprenticeships
This Level 4 apprenticeship provides everything you need to immerse yourself in the exciting world of technology and launch a rewarding career in IT.
You’ll get hands-on experience in all areas of technical support, from configuring devices to supporting with software, optimising performance and setting up virtual environments. With our unique curriculum and one-to-one support, you’ll accelerate your skills and get the qualification and confidence you need to thrive in IT.
You’ll be based full time with an employer and will quickly become an important part of the team. Our training is 100% online, including real-time classes with our expert trainers and self-paced courses created by industry specialists.
