Network Engineer Apprenticeship

Working in partnership with Baltic Apprenticeships, GPS Telecom is offering an exciting opportunity for an aspiring Network Engineer Apprentice to join their expert team while working towards a Level 4 Network Engineer apprenticeship. 

In this hands-on role, you’ll support the installation, configuration, and maintenance of network infrastructure for SME and enterprise clients, gaining practical experience with routers, switches, access points, and industry-standard diagnostic tools. You’ll be supported by experienced professionals who are committed to delivering efficient, cost-effective solutions and outstanding customer satisfaction at every level.

A Typical Day in the Job:

• configuring virtual phone systems and deploying VoIP systems 
• Install, configure, and maintain physical and virtual networks, including routers, switches, and wireless access points
• Support network upgrades and new installations using Cisco networking equipment
• Diagnose and troubleshoot network and telephony issues using tools such as ping, traceroute, Wireshark, Ubiquiti software, and network scanners
• Carry out hands-on infrastructure tasks including running and terminating cabling, patch panel work, replacing network hardware, and installing UPS device
• Document network configurations, processes, and work completed using Scribe to ensure accurate and up-to-date record
• Full training and support will be provided by your workplace mentor and from the Baltic team.

Salary, Hours & Benefits:

• £21,000 per annum
• Monday to Friday 9am till 5pm
• 30 minutes Lunch
• 20 Days annual leave
• Due to the nature of the role a driver is required.

Desired Qualities, Skills and Knowledge:

• Passion for IT
• Due to the nature of the role a driver is required
• Due to insurance purposes applicants need to be 21 or older
• Good communication and customer service skills
• Ability to work within a team and individually
• Grade 5/C in English or 4/C in Math's GCSE
