Do you have a passion for IT and ready to dive into an IT support role?

As an IT Apprentice at Ashmole Trust, you will play a key role in supporting and developing the school’s IT infrastructure while gaining valuable, hands-on experience in a busy educational environment. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with a strong interest in technology who is eager to learn and build a career in IT.

You will work alongside an experienced IT support team, assisting with the day-to-day operation, maintenance, and development of IT systems across the school. From supporting staff and students with technical issues to helping maintain hardware, software, and network systems, no two days will be the same. Alongside your practical experience, you will work towards an accredited IT qualification, allowing you to develop both technical skills and professional workplace experience in a supportive and structured setting.

In this role, you’ll work towards your Level 3 Information Communications Technician qualification, delivered by our expert training team at Baltic Apprenticeships.

A Typical Day in the Job:

  • Assist in the installation, configuration, and maintenance of hardware and software systems.
  • Provide first line technical support to staff and students, resolving IT issues promptly and efficiently.
  • Help maintain the schools network infrastructure, including servers, routers, and switches.
  • Support the setup and maintenance of classroom technology, such as interactive whiteboards and projectors.
  • Support the use of AV and Media.
  • Participate in regular IT audits and inventory management.
  • Assist in ensuring the security and integrity of the school's data and IT systems.
  • Contribute to IT-related projects and initiatives.
  • Provide training and guidance to staff and students on the use of IT resources.

Full training and support will be provided by your workplace mentor and from the team at Baltic Apprenticeships.

Desired Qualities, Skills and Knowledge

  • A genuine interest in IT and technology.
  • Basic understanding of computer hardware and software.
  • Good problem solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot technical issues.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Willingness to learn and develop new skills.
  • Grade 4 in GCSE Maths & Grade 5 in GCSE English 
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite, Windows operating systems, and basic networking concepts.

Salary, Hours & Benefits:

  • £16,000 – £18,000 per annum.
  • 8am-4pm Monday to Friday.
  • 35 days annual leave

This apprenticeship programme will provide you with everything you need to launch and develop your career in IT support. Afterwards, we’ll support you to take the next steps, including further training and progression onto a Level 4 qualification.

Your Training with Baltic Apprenticeships

This Level 3 apprenticeship provides everything you need to immerse yourself in the exciting world of technology and launch a rewarding career in IT. 

You’ll get hands-on experience in all areas of technical support, from configuring devices to supporting with software, optimising performance and setting up virtual environments. With our unique curriculum and one-to-one support, you’ll accelerate your skills and get the qualification and confidence you need to thrive in IT.

You’ll be based full time with an employer and will quickly become an important part of the team. Our training is 100% online, including real-time classes with our expert trainers and self-paced courses created by industry specialists.
