Lift Off IT is an innovative and growing technology company that helps businesses stay connected, secure, and running at their best. The team provides a full range of IT services, from cloud solutions and cybersecurity to network management and support. The company is now looking for an enthusiastic IT Apprentice to join their friendly and supportive team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is passionate about technology and eager to start building a professional career in IT.

The successful apprentice will gain real, hands-on experience working with clients and learning directly from experienced engineers. They will have the chance to use a wide range of tools and technologies, including cloud systems, Microsoft 365, Azure, and cybersecurity software. Every day will bring new challenges and opportunities to develop valuable technical and communication skills in a real working environment.Lift Off IT believes in rewarding and supporting its people. In this role, you’ll work towards your Level 3 Information Communications Technician qualification, delivered by our expert training team at Baltic Apprenticeships.

A Typical Day in the Job:

  • Help manage user accounts and security, including password resets, setting up permissions, using two-step verification, and keeping data safe.
  • Use SharePoint for training and updates, and the CRM system to find client details, security settings, and network information.
  • Handle support requests through the Synco ticket system, making sure tasks are completed on time and recorded properly.
  • Provide technical support to staff and clients in person, by phone, by email, or through the ticket system.
  • Use troubleshooting tools like Wireshark, PowerShell, and Synco’s built-in tools to find and fix technical problems.
  • Set up and maintain hardware, including upgrading PCs, working with routers, switches, printers, headsets, and other office equipment.
  • Install and update software, such as Microsoft 365, operating systems, and security or productivity programs.
  • Help with network and cloud systems, including Wi-Fi, servers, SharePoint, Teams, Azure, and Google Workspace.
  • Use simple PowerShell scripts to do tasks like creating accounts, installing antivirus, or updating computers in bulk.

Full training and support will be provided by your workplace mentor and from the team at Baltic Apprenticeships.

Desired Qualities, Skills and Knowledge

  • A genuine interest and enthusiasm for technology and how things work.
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to explain technical issues clearly.
  • Confident and proactive when learning new systems or solving problems.
  • Keen to learn and develop new technical skills through hands-on experience and training.
  • Positive attitude with good teamwork and people skills.
  • Organised and reliable, with attention to detail when following instructions or documenting work.
  • Customer service experience (paid or voluntary) is an advantage, showing the ability to support and help others.
  • Grade 4 in GCSE Mathematics & Grade 5 in GCSE English

Salary, Hours & Benefits:

  • £16,000 – £20,000 per annum.
  • 8:45am-5pm.
  • 21 days annual leave plus bank holiday.
  • Birthday off.
  • Christmas shutdown.
  • Company events.

This apprenticeship programme will provide you with everything you need to launch and develop your career in IT support. Afterwards, we’ll support you to take the next steps, including further training and progression onto a Level 4 qualification.

Your Training with Baltic Apprenticeships

This Level 3 apprenticeship provides everything you need to immerse yourself in the exciting world of technology and launch a rewarding career in IT. 

You’ll get hands-on experience in all areas of technical support, from configuring devices to supporting with software, optimising performance and setting up virtual environments. With our unique curriculum and one-to-one support, you’ll accelerate your skills and get the qualification and confidence you need to thrive in IT.

You’ll be based full time with an employer and will quickly become an important part of the team. Our training is 100% online, including real-time classes with our expert trainers and self-paced courses created by industry specialists.
